Yeah right.

Let's look at the series clinching Game Six stats against the Canucks...
Igor Larionov, 40 yrs old: 1 goal and 3 assists
Chris Chelios, 40 yrs old: 4 assists
Brett Hull, 37 yrs old: 3 goals

And some playoff stats...
Steve Yzerman, 37 yrs old: Leads all playoff scorers with 9 points
Chris Chelios, 40 yrs old: Leads all defensemen in points with 6

Bring on the Blues or Kings!!! :D

Go Wings!

On a side note, it will be interesting to see the Islanders and Toronto play game 7, as well as the Kings and Avalanche! I love game 7s. :)

No kidding! He has an injured right knee that's going to require surgery. But he's determined to wait until the season is over.

Last year, he played two playoff games with a broken leg. Refused to get x-rays on it, because he knew he wouldn't be able to play.

Now THAT'S a leader!!!

I am torn as to what I want to see happen tomorrow. If the Avs win, we get the Blues. If the Kings win, we get the Kings.

The Blues don't exactly have the best offense in the league, and rely on their defense to get them through. Johnson is a good goaltender, but I don't think he can hold up in a tough series.

The Kings. Well, I just don't know if I want to see them in the playoffs ever again. :D Plus, we would have to make trips all the way to LA, which means long flights and long nights. I don't know how many more 10:30PM starts I can take. But, if we are playing the Kings, that means that the Fagalanche are out of the playoffs. THAT would be nice. :D

LETS GO RED WINGS!

Toronto in game 7. :)

It was pretty obvious Red Wings were gona win. I was a bit shocked when the Canucks got 2 game lead, but it wasnt enought to keep the wings down.

*sorry nucks fans :D you still did great! :D

My team is out, so I don't really care who wins as long as it isn't Detroit or Toronto. I guess I'd like to see L.A. or San Jose win, just for something different.

If you want different, the Leafs are the way to go. They haven't won it since '67. :D

And if they win it in 2067 it will be too soon. No, their perpetual failure amuses me.

Your team is out, so why is it so amusing? HAHA!

BTW, the chances of us winning is slim with most of our players playing hurt or off the play offs. Still... if theres a .1% chance of them winning, I'll be behind them all the way! :D

I think that the age of the Red Wings is actually beneficial. They have all of the big name players on the team and those big players are still pulling strong. I can honestly say that the Wings have a really good chance of getting the cup again this year. I really hope they do too. That would be great for everybody. :D

GO WINGS!!!!! :D

I think the Blues are the easiest match-up for the Wings. San Jose and Colarado will beat the hell out of each other. San Jose and the Kings are the two physical teams in the West. If its Wings/LA then I like San Jose to advance to the finals. If its Wings/Blues. I like the Wings to advance.

The East has is really beating up on each other, except for Carolina and Ottawa, and both those teams kind of stink.

The Wings might be old, but they have heart and will power to go on and compete (also outplay) the young Canucks....

Just look at Yverman, enough said...

Guess what, in a couple of years we will be just as strong. We have some superstars coming through the ranks right now and an all-star coach as an assitant in Barry Smith.

In 4 years you will be hearing about Datsyuk, Jason Williams, Sean Avery, Zetterberg, Fischer, and Legace. An don't forget about our draft picks plus the fact that everyone in hockey wants to play for us because the way they are treated by the fans and management.

You will be losing to Detroit for a very long time. Get used to it. :D

That's not the way the NHL works. If the Wings don't win it this year, it will be a long time before they get another shot. I think the Rangers and Flyers have shown how well throwing money around works on a team full of old stars/has-beens. Having some young prospects is nice, but that won't win you a Cup unless they too become stars and not just serviceable players. And I think Brett Hull would disagree about the fans. So without a shot at a Cup or a ridiculous contract, who the hell wants to live in Detroit? It's like Bosnia without all the landmines. Anyway, you have to be over 31 before you get to pick where you play and signing guys over 31 is how the Rangers got into their mess.

No, the powerhouses in the next few years will be San Jose, St. Louis, Colorado, and perhaps the Islanders and Bruins with some lineup tweaking.

You are correct, the "window of opportunity" is pretty small in the NHL. But most of the key players are under contract for next year, too. And yes, they do have an excellent young base, especially in Europe.

Just remember the name, Stefan Liv. In a few years, he'll be a force in goal. He even made the Swedish Olympic team at only 21 years of age.

Brett Hull really likes Detroit. He just didn't appreciate the fans that one night. He's over it, now. And Detroit is still Hockeytown! :)

I heard the exact same thing last year when we lost to LA. Everybody said that the team would be dismantled, and that it was time to rebuild. And look at what we picked up over the summer. Illitch makes millions from the team in merchandising alone. There is no way he would start from scratch with the Wings.

I'm guessing your just another Vancouver fan whose ass still hurts.

I would like Detroit IF they didn't have that whiny, flopping, cry-baby, hard-drinking, media-spitting-on, overrated idiot in net for them.

Just watch - if/when the Wings win the Cup it will finally give every lame-brained, know-nothing, loud-mouthed announcer/color commentator/idiot the "right" to, in the face of 100 years of hockey history and the present fact, declare Hasek "The greatest Goaltender - nay - human being to ever grace the face of the planet!"

Grrrrrr......

Funny, Hasek is the ONLY reason that Detroit winning would not be a total catastrophe. I really would like to see him win a Cup. Roy,
OTOH can't let in a goal without an accompanying 5 minute tantrum.

Nope. You have 27 more guesses.
