The reason some issues are 'complex'

Take the recent thread asking whether mentally disabled people should be kept alive. The reason this is a complex issue is simple. People are trying to justify the destruction of life. Lets think of some other 'complex' issues. The death penalty. Once again, it is complex because people try to justify the destruction of human life. The same with abortion. Abortion is a 'complex' issue because people try to justify the destruction of human life.

Maybe these issues aren't complex. In fact maybe they are rather simple. Maybe we shouldn't destroy human life.

Oh gee... yes it's that simple. I wonder why no one else thought of that?

Perhaps because it's not that simple.

Unfortunately it will never be that simple, because there will always be people advocating the destruction of human life.
