New Stuff:

iTunes 10
iOS 4.1
iPod Touch update (Retina display, A4 chip, Gyro, iOS4.1, front & rear cameras, FaceTime, 720p video recording)
iPod Nano update (small square touchscreen)
iPod Shuffle (brought back the buttons)
$99 AppleTV (Netflix, Flickr, Youtube, MobileMe, 99-cent HDTV show rentals, $4.99 HD movies)

275 million iPods sold to date
120 million iOS devices shipped to date
iPad wireless printing
"Airplay" to replace Airtunes (music & video streaming)
HDR photos for iPhone

Original Post:

Starts at 1:00PM EST, livestream from Apple.com!

My predictions:

1. iOS-based AppleTV
2. iOS4 for iPad
3. iTouch Camera with Email Facetime
4. Screen-only iPod Nano
5. Data Center annoucement (they ARE streaming for the first time, after all!)

I'm guessing this is the event where they announce cloud streaming and whatnot (from their Lala pickup).

Every few months, it's like Christmas all over again for Apple fanboys. Yee-haw! :D

http://events.apple.com.edgesuite.net/1009qpeijrfn/event - web stream here

230k activations a day!!!! That totally blows away Android's last figure.

btw do you really need safari to watch? I couldnt get it to work on FF, but it worked on my Safari instantly. I just woke up so im in bed so it's my MBP and not my PC... so I took the easy way out. Hope it works for everyone else.

Safari 4 or 5 on Snow Leopard, iOS 3+

iPad supports printing now. It's about time. Too bad it's Wifi only. So now that it's added at least one of the two things I want, it's really tempting. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on your point of view) I don't have $550 lying around! I'm still waiting to see what those Tegra2/Android slates are going to serve up.

Apparently they've fixed the problems with the 3G and iOS4. Anybody want to try it? I don't feel like being guinea pig this time.

Ya.....
Not really that big on social networking in iTunes. Maybe if it included movies/TV but still.

Looks like it is integrated with FaceBook which should give Apple a big boost in the push to get people to actually use it.

It reminds me of the paper social networking site form the office.

They are trying to push people onto the iPod touch to take advantage of app revenue.

Apple missed it big time with the integration of computers and the AppleTV.
Media browsing should be seamless between your media and iTunes content.

new apple tv looks nice and at a decent pricepoint. whats going to make or break it for me is how open it is on formats streamed from a computer. knowning apple it will be pretty restrictive, although the mod community did wounders for the original appletv so we'll see what magic it can work for this one.

2 cameras.
front facing for face time
rear facging for photos/HD video.

(Wonders if it is the same camera as the one in the iP4)

It seems the new IPT is video only... like the previous generation Nano was. If it's the same camera, he would've mentioned something about a backlit sensor and talked about the HDR that's coming in iOS 4.1. Of course this is the pessimist in me talking, and knowing that this is at least a HD 1280x720 capable camera, I think you can get some decent stills off of it even if it has to be downsampled to say 640x480 to be decent. The stills for the previous Nano were terrible, but that was a VGA camera with probably as bad quality as the original VGA camera phones like on the Moto V300 in 2004.
