Another practical test of an actual usage scenario here:

I have to agree with this person. The propaganda designed to kill a company that is rampant across almost every tech forum on the internet is sickening.

If you want to post bad YouTube videos, go to OT. There is no way to meaningfully critique a poorly shot, poorly edited video like this that fails to succiently present its test methodology and results.

Well Anandtech benchmarks show quite a considerable advantage for a 3770k over 1055T (they don't have the 1045T)

http://www.bench.anandtech.com/bench/Product/551?vs=147

Its anywhere from 1.5x to 2x faster. Its not like Anandtech's bench is full of synethics, its got h264 encoding, Winrar compression of a collection of files, 3D rendering, games and image reprocessing. These are all real world activities. Some sites do lots of synthetics but Anandtech has these real world and multitasking tests.

There isn't a Sony vegas test in there and I can't find one that compares the performance of the two processors anywhere else to compare with. What I can say is that there is every possibility this guy isn't looking at the other potential bottlenecks. You can make two processors like this achieve almost the same result if you limit their performance with a HDD and light encoding settings such that it is IO limited. That is the nature of bottlenecks. But since he hasn't addressed his testing method or settings or anything else for reproduction we can't do good science and reproduce or otherwise the test.

Someone (IDC) could execute this and determine that yes in Sony Vegas this is what happened, but he would also tell us why it happened. It doesn't change the fact that in real world problems the 3770 is 50% to 100% faster than the Phenom II 1055T.

I would think it's fairly hard to be IO bottlenecked with a typical 1080p h264 compression. I would rather focus on Vegas.
But I will also say, that a lead of 100% in some benchmarks is a very far cry from "double speed in real world problems". Switching from a Phenom2 x3 720 to an i5 2500 left me fairly underwhelmed even though benchmarks suggested a total annihilation. I sent it back and am still holding onto my x3 for the mean time.

LOL. Forget every elite review site on the net and instead concentrate on a Cherry Picked YouTube video. :awe:

But it is on you tube. It must be true. All those reputable review sites that have been around for years are just out to persecute amd for some reason.

Comparing his results with pretty much anywhere else it does seem more than likely that he found an I/O bound test. That said I wouldn't trust a review off youtube especially coming from someone with such an obvious axe to grind.

Also it would have been nice if he tested with an AMD chip that was actually still in production....... lol.
