The real life of strippers

My brother is a DJ in a strip club in Miami. I've been there a few times and met the girls outside of work. A lot of them are pretty messed up kids and some of them know EXACTLY what they're doing.
Most should probably be accompanied by a chaperone to make sure they don't hurt themselves or others, but a few are very intelligent women making a good living by doing something they don't find morally offensive.

This month's Playboy said that your average Vegas stripper took home about $80,000 a year in straight cash, homey. IRS, who?

🙂

One of my relatives has gone that route. She made GREAT money, almost every bit in cash. She had to pay a bunch to the bar each night but still it was great cash.

There was a significant drug problem with some of the women. It could and did take most of the earnings of some of the dancers.

Many of the women did have a history of abuse. Either sexual abuse as a child or physical/sexual abuse as an "adult." (Some of them were chronologically adults but were really just children.)

She got out of it in part because of how she was perceived by some in her family. It took me a while to accept it but I finally came to the realization that she was an adult and she was still the same wonderful person she was before she started. It was her choice at the time and the best she thought she could do given her circumstances.

And no, I never went to see her dance.

I was at a bachelor party in Las Vegas a few years ago for one of my college buddies, and one of our friends (who works in the equity side of the securities industry) ended up in the VIP room with one girl for a few consecutive lap dances. He came out shaking his head, talking about how the girl had a ridiculous (in a good way) portfolio and about how he really needed to save and invest more money and not blow it on beer, strippers and lap dances. 😛

The most disturbing part of your post is the fact that instead of concentrating on getting his dick rubbed, he was worried about what kind of savings she has.

IE, he's gay 😛

Actually, he said that after she found out what he did for a living, she wanted strategy and buy/sell advice, and to talk shop. Poor guy. Can't get away from the job anywhere. 😛

All the strippers I have met strip to earn money for college? Yet, I have not meet an ex-stripper college grad.
