I have been looking into upgrading or simply building a new machine soon so naturally I have been browsing the tech sites and online retailers to check pricing...etc.

There are a couple things I have found that are questionable:

1) NVIDIA Geforce 4 Ti 4800 SE chipset? I have been to many tech sites, not one mention of this...nor does the NVIDIA site have any mention of this chipset

2) Athlon XP 2600 and 2700 cpu with 333 bus...according to sites like Anadtech the XP 2800 is the first and only AMD cpu to support this and again research has yielded no results.

I am also wondering if anyone has any information on the AMD HAMMER..expected release dates, speeds etc.

Much appreciated,

The Ti4800 is really a Ti4600 with AGPx8, and I believe the Ti4800SE is a Ti4400 /w AGPx8, don't ask me how that's supposed to make sense.

The 2800+ was the first CPU to come with the 333 MHz bus, but there are now 2600's and 2700's as well, it's like the TBred core, it starts at the top and filters down :)

Hammer...that's a big subject, there are plenty of articles about it, try the major hardware sites(Anand, Tom's, Ace's, etc), or Google.
There are no reviews yet, only a few rather vague preliminary benchmarks, expected release is first half of 2003, speeds aren't set in stone yet AFAIK.
