Question The rate of the Win10 1809 roll-out *does* seem to be pretty slow

Figures published by ad slinger AdDuplex show that the Update of the Damned, aka the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, has dribbled its way onto 12.4 per cent of Windows 10 PCs sold.

... though I'm not sure how users might be "steering clear" of it. Though I'd say ~12% is in line with what I'm seeing in my line of work. At this rate, most users will still be behind two feature updates by the time the next one is released.

Which is fine. I still look forward to the updates, but man, they were painful at first (speaking of my desktop). 1809 was the first to require no extra action on my part. On the bright side, my virtual machines have been fine with each one.

I just reset my nieces laptop, it's 1-2 years old, never updated.

1809 seems like the update they wish they could forget. It would never install on my desktop until I removed developer mode. Odd bug.

It won't be the last painful one. They don't really learn much from mistakes. I think I've skipped the last 2 major updates.....wait...I haven't even booted that win 10 instance in a year. I have enough of Win 10 at work. Don't need it at home. Still maining win7.
