Not sure why I'm posting this. A bit of lulz and a facepalm at the "teacher", but she's doing her best, and it's an interesting picture. The desire to learn is more important than materials, and that's what's missing today. Throwing money at schools as though that'll fix something is the wrong approach.

Cool site. Someone here mentioned it in funboy's thread, and I've been going through it the last couple days.

Look up on Google map. The location is NE of La, very close to the Miss. river/border, with a population of less than 1,000 people. I do agree with the statement about the desire to learn >>>> throwing money into educational problems.

I think there might be a rule against non-English posts, but I can't disagree.

Original post is cool, I've got some books from the late 1800's I've been meaning to scan and upload to the tubes. I like to pick up very old cookbooks whenever I can. They describe using horse manure poultices and remedying pediatric colds with lumps of sugar soaked in turpentine.

Translation is often a sticky wicket when it comes to tense!

Who let the damned chickens in here?

Stuff here can be difficult to read, with the often poor grammar and English skills of many posters...but reading chicken scratches is impossible for MOST of us.
