The Punisher - The Movie

Well I watched The Punisher last night. I really enjoyed the movie, although the acting was just okay. I liked the story and all the action. However I have a question about the end of the movie...

I heard from about 5 different people that 'the movie was good but the ending sucked'. Then after some research, I saw people stating that the ending only 'sucked' if you weren't familiar with the comic series. In other words, it wouldn't make much sense if you didnt know the comic beforehand.

Now my question is as follows ... what part at the end was 'supposed to suck if you didnt know the comic beforehand?' Because after he killed Travolta (which I thought was badass when he went on that rampage!) I was waiting for something to be stupid of not make sense. I am by no means a follower of the comic, but I knew the general story, that his family was killed and he seeked his revenge, then from then on became a kind of underground-superhero-that-cleaned-up-the-streets. But could someone please tell me what the 'sucky ending' actually referred to?

I guess some people just don't like endings where the character goes off on a monologue and the movie goes off that way. I won't say that it was the best ending that I've ever seen but it fit the movie pretty well. I liked the movie and will most likely buy it when it comes out in September. 🙂
