How do i get rid of this screen? I tried unchecking Always ask before opening file. Does nothing except make it run in admin. I run into this problem with the program Alt.Binz it is a newsgroup nzb client made by RDL. http://altbinz.net/

Is it recommended to even get rid of this screen or should I live with it ?

That is exactly what I did. Thanks.

For me, this is the most annoying "feature" ever. I have seen people that are virus-prone continue to get viruses in spite of this "feature", while other people turn it off and continue to be virus free.

If people can't be bothered to read before they click Download, they can't be bothered to read before they click Run either.

True.

At least Windows tried to warn them, and it's one extra thing to put their nose in when they go to get help.

It's like those extra large speedbumps near elementary schools here where I live

"speedbump ahead, are you sure you want to continue driving fast?" Yes | No
Yes
*drives 30mph over speedbump and goes flying 10ft in the air.

Yeah people speed on the street regardless of the giant speebumps that can potentially damage your car (damaged my father's old Crown Vic suspension barely going 15). So yeah, people will continue to download and install infected files regardless of the warning.

Oh , I have to share another one. A stretch of one of the streets I do my walks on. No less than three do not litter signs talking about the crime, the fines, the jail time, etc. The trashiest section you will find outside of a junk yard. The only thing I can figure is the property surrounding is all 2-family rental houses, so they don't care.

That happens when you download a file using your browser which does not have Smart Check enabled (which I always turn off). 2 solutions for this

1) Use a download manager then the file does not have a BLOCKED tag on it so it runs normally

2) After downloading the file, right click on it, go to properties, you will see in the bottom right there is a checkbock to unblock it, tick it, then apply

If you have downloaded a driver package like in ZIP or RAR format, before extracting it, right click on that compressed file and unblock it otherwise all the files that are extracted will have the blocked tag which can lead to problems when installing the driver.
