There are a number of problems with that "theory"

One is that there is no clear link between how "religious" you are and the risk of you becoming a suicide bomber. This is clear from e.g. research done in Israel.

The second problem is that the tactic of suicide bombing was "invented" by the Tamil Tigers which have been using if for many years. They are a communist guerilla (meaning they are atheists). Another obvious example would be Kamikaze pilots.

Once you accept the idea that you are fighting a war. suicide bombing becomes just yet another weapon. The reason why it is used is simply because it is very efficient.

The Kamikaze Pilots were doing it for the Emperor of Japan. They worship him and believe he is the creator of all Japaneeze people. To them he was god-like and they were willing to die to proctect him and his rule. One could draw almost identical parallels to the Emperor of Japan and the Pharos of Ancient Egypt.

Well, sort of. However, you need to remember than quite a few Kamikaze pilots were christians. They still "worshipped" the emperor to some extent but to them (and many others) he was mainly a symbol for the nation. I don't think any of them actually considered him to be a "living god". There is no evidence that kamikaze pilots were "fanatics".
Moreover, you had what you could call "quasi-kamikaze" pilots in the Soviet Union, and Germany as well during WWII, i.e. pilots were instructed to crash their planes into enemy bombplanes. sometimes they survived but in many (most?) cases they didn't.
It is also interesting to note that Germany actually had a "real" kamikaze program running where they were going to use "human bombs" to shot down enemy aircraft but the war ended before they had time to use them (I think they were actually used once but with very little success).

It is all about hate and religious fanantacism.

They are not like us, so go blow them up.

What is odd is many college students are sometimes recruited to be suicide bombers. So it is not merely the uneducated that fall prey to this kind of religious fanatacism. This preys a lot on peoples fears. It is much like the psychology of Genocide.
