the problem with window media player !!!

i'm using win XP pro and encounter some problems with the media player. I cant open the Divx file types and some media files also. And in some movies, no sound comes out. What other codecs do i need to install? Btw, the player takes very long to download the necessary codecs. How come?

Some DivX can't be played with WMP u need to download The Playa a software for playing DivX. maybe u can find it here

ya..i have downloaded one... but what about no-sound-comes-out thing? which audio codec do i need to install?
