It is surprising how little information there is on this subject on the Internet. No websites of laptops manufacturers show clear solutions for this problem.
I only can find underground information in forums and blogs.
There is a Startech interface that converts USB3 to DisplayPort but few customer reviews, many of them are contradictory and it seems that the device is still buggy.
It is not a matter of the video card not supporting the resolution, the majority of today's notebooks all have decent graphics cards, the problem is that laptops do not have dual link DVI or displayport outputs. I found some docking stations that support the resolution however they are brand and model specific and not universal.
I need help. Please guys I am not techie like you so please answer me in plain and simple English. In other words: What laptop do I have to buy and which additional hardware in order to be able to connect a Samsung series 9 27" monitor at full resolution?
Many thanks in advance.
