An update on Amazon fulfillment and efficiency.
I had a lot of subscriptions this month, to take advantage of some cheap household supplies. The orders were charged on Saturday, and 9 items arrived yesterday in one big box. So they do optimize for lowest carbon footprint if all the goods come from one distribution center. Another two items arrived today in a non-padded plastic bag, because they aren't particularly fragile. So basically Prime speed fulfillment, except that I don't subscribe for Prime.
One last item is backordered and will ship at a later date. Subscribe & Save is a great way to get certain deals and combine orders into an optimal monthly fulfillment.
