The Price Wars may be Starting, Let's hope....

If the price cuts apply to DDR SDRAM, SCSI controllers, and disks, then I may be able to take advantage of them at the year's end. Unfortunately, I don't forsee that happening. 🙁

Thanks for the link. If you have any friends or family members that want to buy one of those $399 systems, have them seriously consider spending a few more $$.

Case in point: My neighbor has a 1-year-old Gateway system - 1 GHz Celeron, 128 MB RAM, video - who knows? - and he's running a NetZero paid dial-up account. I've done a little work on his system. What a POS. He about another stick of PC133 to upgrade his box. The Kingston module wasn't compatible with the Micron module that existed in there. His system was so dog-slow, I couldn't believe it. I'm sure kicking in a few hundred more dollars would get a significantly better system. In my neigbors' case, his P.O.S. system is already out-dated because it's so limited. 🙁

Damn! I hope we see some Ati vs. nVidia pricewars! Not to mention Intel vs. AMD. w00t! w00t! I hope I can have a new system soon 😀
