The military and law enforcement ostensibly work for the people, but they answer to the government. So if the people want to overthrow the government, they have to defeat or convince the military otherwise. There's no amount of lawful violence that can defeat an army (at least none that I've heard of).

As for the US invasion of Iraq being illegal? There are lots of legal and illegal activities going on around the world. Obviously we support the enforcement of the law when it suits us and turn a blind eye when our allies (or we) are breaking such laws. Hence, legality should be answered by those that are more adept at international law. But the case for war, the threat, was all a fantasy that was exploited by our leaders. The noble lies they told were a phantom. They got what they wanted, more hate, which is the necessary excuse to stay there. But at what cost and who is going to pay the price? Don't let fear keep you from asking hard questions.

You haven't said a damn thing there, do you moonlight as a presidential spokesman? You say don't believe in a concept of lawful violence. That's all you need to say. IMO, that makes you a parasite living off the people and principles that protect your existence.

But the funny -or sad- thing is, you talk about whether certain actions have legality, and mention "international law." People like you will say how the Iraq invasion was illegal. Doesn't this all PRECLUDE that certain actions can also be lawful?

Do you people just chant the mantra like parrots, or do you actually think about what you say? You say there's no such thing as lawful violence, yet your thought processes necessitate its validity.

We are talking about two different things here. IMHO, legality or illegality flies out the window when the might of the community says so. Since it is the people that legitimize a government, they have a right to overthrow it, by absolutely every means imageniable to man. They can setup any new gov't that suits them. Of course, those are the fundamentals of every modern state, but the laws that dictate this or that should streamline such overthrows, not stop them.

As for the Iraq War, either America or the world was lied to or they were fed bad information. That's the worst and best case scenerio, respectifully. I'm no parrot and I initially supported this Iraq War. However, I've since realized that it was a war of choice and I was wrong to support people that have dark intentions. Legal or not, this war was wrong because it was unnecessary and filled with imperialistic bravado that called for the overthrow of anyone that didn't agree with us as far as terrorism was concerned. All this is based on fear. You cannot make good judgements based on fear.

noble lie lol, yes indeed.

the problem with this curtis guy is he made other films which were actually decent. its too bad this latest film is total garbage. its more like the power of propaganda, which itself as the best example, use of ominous music and distorted history to make its case. once you get past its slick production you'll see its basically a big conspiracy theory, massive oversimplification of the world using selective facts and distortion of history to fit a grand narrative basically his world is controlled by shadowy all powerful cabals. he has to use this distortion to make the stretched parralels he makes between the neocons and islamists.

his target are exactly like the op, people who are easily charmed by bits of surprising facts curtis doles out which frankly are already well documented if not for the viewers ignorance, but he uses this credibility to sell the bigger lie as all propagandists do. as they say, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, and the way this video has been posted endlessly through the internet since its first airing is just rather disturbing. the followers think they see the neocons/islamists distorted view of the world but in fact are distorting their own:p

Goebbels would be proud.
