The power button just broke off my monitor

It didn't just pop off, a piece of the button that holds it on broke.

And it's just a button, I really hate for my monitor to go out like this... Any help/advice would be appreciated.

It's a Samsung SyncMaster 710t, btw. If anyone else out there has one, I would advise you to be easy on the power button. :/

It just hit me to check Ebay for a broken one being sold cheaply. I'm going to go ahead and do that unless anyone knows if spare parts are sold somewhere, which I have to doubt. Thx.

Go to radioshack and by a power button that is the same type and can handle the current and wire it in.

My first call would be to Samsung. Repair parts may take some arm twisting as they'd rather you chuck it and buy a new one... Sad!

Oh wow, the same thing happened to my 710t a few weeks ago. 😀

If it is a known design flaw (too weak to survive normal use), then they will often fix it even after warranty is passed (like the bad cap issue with some mobos).
