The PokerTek PokerPro electronic poker table

Have you guys heard about these?

http://www.pokertek.com/

Electronic poker tables where each person has a screen in front of them, and there is a large screen in the middle of the table for the flop, etc. It was pretty cool looking, but I think I'd rather play "real" poker.

Tried one of these out at Hollywood Park Casino tonight... apparently they were installed last week.

Yes, I have.
I go down to Tampa sometimes to this Indian casino.
Personally, I think its gay.
If I wanted to with a computer as a dealer, I can play at home.

Anyway, at this Casino, apparently, they used these tables for the lowest buy-in($40).
The higher buy-ins have real dealers.
They also have a house rake of $40(out of $320) which is a big rip-off using a computer tables.

Yeah I don't see how these things can catch on... I'd rather play regular poker in person! It had to happen eventually though.

they better not install that thing at the poker rooms around here, ill be pissed. what if it doesnt register my opponents press and he keeps hitting it so it takes? is he on tilt and taking his frustrations out on the screen? or is that it just isnt taking his screen hit? no way, taking no chances. but then again im from a traditional stand point that i dont even like sunglasses or mp3 players at the table, so go figure.

oh and btw why the hell did u go to hollywood casino. that place is so shady

Oh yeah it's shady, but the tables are JUICY. JUICY! I want to play big pots with people that can't calc their odds, and this is the place to do it. Hawaiin Gardens is also pretty good, but games are generally much tighter there.

so you have to have a hand over the screen to hide your cards?

No, there is a small section where you can tap it and the 2 cards roll up slightly for you to see. If you don't tap it, the 2 cards stay down.
