isn't that the theory behind bubble fusion?

shrimp makes unending power source!

I assume it's a mantis shrimp of some flavour? I don't wathc youtube on this connection

If it causes cavitation, some fruity stuff happens on a minute scale, but i don't think you'd be getting fried, or even that the bubbles formed would be noticeably warm...

The shrimp, Alpheus heterochaelis, is a dirty-green crustacean that prowls the shallow waters of tropical seas. It has two claws', one resembling an oversize boxing glove, which it uses to stun prey, such as small crabs, by snapping the oversize claw shut.

A high temperature without large surface area is relatively useless in that regard.

Consider a "stun gun" that's 750,000 volts. MAJOR transmission lines carrying GIGAWATTS of power run at these pressures. Compare touching the terminals of a stun gun - even on the tip of your penis - compared to faulting a 750kV transmission line across phases. The former results in a yelp and possibly a short lived boner while the latter results in the equivalent of a gnat flying into an electric bug whacker.

Why the heck did that example go to the penis right away? brutal.

bingo. A 1 kabillion volt tazer ain't gonna hurt much if it can only deliver it at 1/1000 of a nano-ampere.

If it actually causes sonoluminescence, which I suppose is possible, then the bubbles are indeed very high temperature...but the volume of high-temperature substance is so small that it doesn't contain enough heat to make any real difference on the macro scale. Same thing with laser heating...due to an extremely high power density, you can heat small objects to ridiculous temperatures, but there's no danger of melting your test stand or anything miserable like that.

You must be a woman. Any guy knows that it feels good when you ground power lines with your wang. It's stimulating to say the least.

Pistol shrimp are pretty cool. I know several reefers who keep them paired with watchman gobies...Lots of fun to watch the pair do their thing...

Mantis are totally different critters. I also know several people who keep mantis shrimp...by themselves in their own tank...and they're pretty amazing animals as well.

Just about every animal in the reef has a symbotic relationship.

I hear the "pop.......pop" in my reef once the lights go out.

It truly is amazing these relationships.

As far as the answer to the OP -

PV=NRT

Pistol shrimp are nothing.

what you have to be careful of are the mantis. They'll split your thumb in a heartbeat.

<---reefkeeper

Would you like to play?

Wow, I had no idea....up to 12"? Awesome creatures....

Not to derail the thread...

But there are so many things going on in a reef that would blow ones mind. Who wudda thunk that a damn shrimp could be so smart.

A hilarious, but superbly accurate example -- well, I can't speak to the accuracy of getting a penile tazering resulting in an erection.
