The phrase "It's like Déjà Vu all over again"

Is it purposely facetious? Wouldn't just saying "Déjà Vu" imply that something you've seen before is happening or has happened (if you were explaining it to someone) "all over again"? Or am I just missing something? Enlighten me, someone!

Would it mean that you're having deja vu a second time, thus making the familiar occurrence happen a total of three times?

4 times I think. Maybe more if you count the memory also.

Yes, it's purposely facetious. It's one of Yogi Berra's sayings. He used to act stupid to get laughs out of people.

Here are a few more.

I get that all the time - deja vu, but I also have the feeling that the last time it happened, I had deja vu then too

I have a sense of humor like Data's. I loved the one bit from Star Trek: Generations
Data's laughing at some joke.

Geordi: "Data, that was seven years ago!"

"I know! I just got it!"

I tend to either take jokes too literally, or else I just totally don't get the connection.

Speaking of Deja Vu;
I've recently been diagnosed with "Deja Vu Alzheimer's disease".
I think I remember forgetting that before.

Once, Yogi's wife Carmen asked, "Yogi, you are from St. Louis,
we live in New Jersey, and you played ball in New York.
If you go before I do, where would you like me to have you buried?"
Yogi replied, "Surprise me."
lol
