If he comes to the Titans, look for him to wear #16.

I hope Denver does get Manning so Rivers can rip him twice a year instead of just once in a while.

Frankly I can't understand for a second why you would want that as a Colts fan.

Favre went to Minnesota and many in Green Bay will never forgive him for it. Manning isn't that kind of person, I realize. I think if he goes to Tennessee it will be mostly because his wife and all the talk about how she wants to be back home, along with his familiarity with the area and College and all that. Not because he wants to get revenge on the Colts, but irregardless, Colts fans should hate that idea.

I like the Broncos chances better next year with Tebow than the Titans with Manning :p
People in Green Bay were pissed because Favre waffled back and forth on retirement for two years then demanded to be released by the team. That's hardly the same as Irsay cutting Peyton. If Peyton had demanded to be released only to play for the Titans, I think people in Indianapolis would have a very different view of the situation (more akin to Favre). But because Peyton was essentially fired, he gets sympathy; he did nothing wrong.

the Chargers are 5-1 in their last six games against Peyton, generating 15 interceptions and allowing only 11 touchdowns.

Also being reported DEN has a 5-year $60m ($30, guaranteed) offer ready and depending on how Fridays workout goes may bump it even more. Also 49ers have emerged as a mystery team as Peyton worked out for Harbaugh.

Against the COLTS, not against PEYTON. All of the games have been very close from what I recall and I don't recall seeing Rivers playing defense.

Also, Peyton had one of the worst games of his entire career against the Chargers (he threw 5 or 6 INTs IIRC) and the Colts still very nearly won it. As I recall, they lost by 3. I guarantee that if the Colts had a defense worth a crap that picked Rivers off 5 times, the Colts wouldn't have only managed to barely win by 3.

When did he work out for the Niners? That is who he should go to if he wants a quick ring.

Yep 6 INT's, 3 alone by Cromartie. And the Chargers still almost lost that game, Vinateri missed a kick with a minute and a half left. In fact a lot of those games were close. Still it seems for whatever reason SD has his number. /shrugs shoulders

Dont have a date when he worked out but Chris Mortensen is reporting it, he also took a physical for the team.

Wow the 49ers are one of three finalists. With Manning they go from SB contenders to SB favorites, assuming he stays healthy. If he wants a ring, the choice is clear.

Are they (or I guess, WERE they) Colts fans?

yes - tons of Colts fans in TN. Tons. The funny thing is that (like I said in my previous post) I literally don't know anyone in TN outside of the Nashville area who likes the Titans. That may change overnight.

WTF are the 49ers thinking.. ugh. As good as Manning is, I just don't see how he meshes well with Harbaugh.

Wow. Would be funny if Manning and Harbaugh punked us all with all of the other team wining and dining was a farce and he had that lined up from the start.

If winning is his only concern, the 49ers have to be the favorites. I still think he'll end up in Tennessee, though.

why? I've heard that a lot, but I don't know if I buy that. They both love the game and want to win, I'd think they have similar personalities in terms of their drive to win. Of course they might clash, but clashing isn't bad if there is mutual respect.

Plus, there's the Indy Colts connection, since Peyton replaced Harbaugh

Manning is offering protection to the teams in the contract in case he has further neck problems. I would be surprised at this point if he doesn't sign with the 49ers.

That's what most people missed about his deal with the Colts, including (sadly) the media. Manning was the one who INSISTED on the structure of the contract with the Colts; he wanted a one-year deal that could be extended another 4 because of his neck problems. It pisses me off to see people saying he tried to screw the Colts because he knew of his neck issues; on the contrary, it was Manning that give them the out and he is also giving outs to the teams interested in him (as you pointed out).

Agree, I think they'd get along very well.

You're correct -- Harbaugh was the first good QB the Indy Colts had and Peyton was his successor. (Note: Jeff George was and still is the most physically gifted QB in Colts history and towards the top in NFL history; he just had an awful mentality).
