I wasn't sure which forum to put this in so i just chose the flame free way and put it in off topic. My friend is shopping for a bag for her new laptop and I was wondering what you guys think about the bags you have. She is fashion conscious, so the pleather "steal me" bags are out of the question. She also needs something a little more than a laptop sleeve, at least enough room for a notebook or two in addition to the laptop.

I actually ordered a Dell nylon bag when I got my i600m... and I've been very happy. This one to be exact. Its actually quite "stiff"--the center pocket has hard sides, and plenty of room for the computer and a 1" binder. The front pocket has the obligatory pencil pockets, and the back one is perfect for random papers and files.

The same one I have. I really like it. It's the deluxe Dell nylon carrying case. Pretty kewl.

I own this Kensington saddle bag and have had it for almost 4 years now. The bag is beautiful looking, is made with high quality suede, and fits a notebook fine in one built in compartment and notebooks, binders, and books in the others.

A big advantage to it is that while it has built in protection and chambers for laptop type stuff, it doesn't really look like a laptop bag, so thieves stay away. I couldn;t be happier with it, and after 4 years of using it daily it still looks brand new.

Jansport used to make an over the shoulder style laptop bag that was really nice. Very contemporary looking, can't tell it's a laptop bag at all. I got mine off eBay a year ago, and the guy said they discontinued them... anyone know what I'm talking about? Are they still available? Anything similar?

Edit: There is no flame-free way to post here - a lot of people get pissed if you post something in OT that belongs in another forum. :)

I got a Targus laptop backpack and its great. I won't go back to the normal bags again. Alot of room and easier to carry around.

I love my bag and laptop sleeve from Timbuk2.

If she is fashion conscious, it is prefect. You can create your own bag with whatever colors you want.

Highly recommended

Another vote for the saddle bag. I have one and love it, it's well made, has room for non-laptop items, and has backpack shoulder straps that can be folded away into a pocket.

i just use a case logic neoprene laptop sleeve and put that in my normal backpack. its slim and convenient. its not going to protect it from a drop kick though, its neoprene.
