The Pepsi Taste Challenge is a bunch of crap

This is an old story, but oh well. Last summer, I would always pass by this huge mall after going to the YMCA. On a weekly basis for the whole summer they had the Pepsi taste challenge where you would taste both Coke and Pepsi and choose which one is the best. I consider myself to be a veteran since I've been drinking both for a long time, but ofcourse I prefer Coke more.

As I was watching others "take the test", I was surprised to see so many people choosing Pepsi over Coke. When it was my turn, I could easily distingush both of them from each other. Surely, I new which one was Coke. When the guy at the counter asked me which one tasted better, I pointed to the one that tasted like Coke. He pulled the plastic cover, and the can turns out to be Pepsi!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it. I thought they made a mistake, so I took the test the following week. Still, I got Pepsi!!!!! The third time I tried it, I still ended up with Pepsi. I finally realized what Pepsi was doing. They would put the Coke where the Pepsi can was, and the Pepsi where the Coke can was. Its sad that is the way they market their product.

Is there any way I can sue them?

that does not surprise me in the least... i'm sure the person doing the taste test got compensated based on how many picked pepsi

a little off topic though, is it true that dr. pepper is its own soft drink entity? i've heard they go thorugh both coke AND pepsi as distributers throughout different parts of the US.

individual bottles are allowed to bottle whoever they want. its conceivable that one bottler could handle coke, dp, and pepsi. a lot of the bottlers used to be directly owned by the syrup makers, but coke and pepsi have both spun off their bottling operations to make themselves more fluid. bottlers are given geographic locales, and cannot operate outside those without severe penalties from the syrup guys.

Dr. Pepper is owned by Cadbury Schweppes(a British company?)
Seven Up is also owned by CS not Pepsi Co as to popular believe. That's why Pepsi Co. comes out with the Sierra Mist line of soda.

Or Slice. Up until they changed to Orange Slice, there was no Sierra Mist, just regular Slice.

Heh - they probably fill the Pepsi can with Coke can with Pepsi - so that when you say, WOW, THAT'S GOOD!! and point to the good one, you point to the Pepsi can and are tricked.

I like both, i cant believe someone loves coke and absolutely hate pepsi, or vice versa. They taste almost the same for God's sake. When ever there is a pepsi-coke thread, there is so much bashing on either brand that you think its an amd vs. intel thread.

Nah. There is a distinct difference. I prefer coke, but I will drink a pepsi from time to time...
