has anyone else seen this movie yet? I thought it was one of the best flicks to come out in a couple years. With all the hollywood stuff aside, it made me feel damn proud to be an American!

I liked it. Not entirely accurate in regards to slavery issues, but none the less, I liked it. Not so much for patriatism as for the love of a father for his children and the length he went to to honor his sons cowardly killing.

The rest of the movie was background to support that effort in a very trying time in history.

IMHO;)

contrived plot
distorted history
gratuitous violence

everything necessary for a teenager to think it was a good movie.

It had it small flaws, but in the end I liked it quite a bit, too. The cinematography, FX, music, and acting were all top notch. I think people were against it because it was directed/ produced by Emmerich/Devlin, the masterminds behind Godzilla.

TripleShot> I agree with you on that. Also, I'd rather see a film like this any day over a stupid flick likeEvolution or Tomb Raider. I did like the movie a bit more when it was celled "Braveheart" but I still loved this film :)

It was a crappy, predictable movie, with a poor plot that they tried to patch up by throwing in 'ol blue eyes.

It was no Braveheart or Last of the Mohicans, both of which I felt this movie was trying to shoot for. It's moderately entertaining, but if I hadn't received it as a gift, I would never have bought the DVD.

Compared to other movies, it was an awesome movie. But, it still sucked ass like all the movies lately if compared to what movies used to be.
