Friend of the g/f's was over tonight & I showed her this thread. She has a 4 year degree from BJU, & can tell some great stories. She actually knows a lot of the people in the pictures on their site, including the ski lift girl.

I told her she needed to register & post but she hasn't yet.

BTW, BJU is considered to be WAY off the deep end by all but a lunatic fringe of Christians. Pensecola Christian (http://www.pcci.edu/) is another along that line though not NEARLY as bad as BJU.

Pretty easy, really. You initially give in to parent/church pressure, once you're there you're kinda stuck because leaving means ditching everything you've spent your time & money on.

A year or two in you're better off just gritting your teeth & finishing.

Or in her case (and many others, including a few you guys have linked to) party your ass off and just avoid getting caught.

I knew a girl who was considering going to Pesacola CC and her parents were going to move from Mississippi to Florida to be close to her (she was a only child). Her parents home-schooled her and were much more fanatical than she ever was.

It would be interesting to hear some true stories about the place; what really went on. If the students really were on their best behaviour or if there was any behind the scenes parties.

To me it would seem to be such a downer to attend a school where everybody essentially thought the same, like some sort of borg mentality.

You'd be surprised at the freaky stuff that goes on. At the christian high school school I attended, two of my classmates were caught having sex in the locker room. They were expelled. Also had a group of students that got caught watching "showgirls" at the movie theatre. 2 couples were engaging in fellatio. They were suspended for a half a year. Tuition still had to be paid if they wanted to stay at the school. Tuition = $10k per year
