The Pain!!

I feel like I'm gonna cough up a lung. 🙁

I just started running again after a few months of inactivity. Sh!t am I hurting. I got a good mile in and then it felt like I busted a lung. This is gonna be an uphill battle.

Anyone else with me? Started running again?

I hate running, much rather biking. I biked to work today and will be doing the same tommorow, about an 18 mile round trip.

I'm proud of you man! You'll be surprised at how painless it becomes. And yes, it's very natural 🙂

I haven't ran in over a month due to a stress fracture, but I'm hoping I'll have at least some of my fitness when I resume due to all the biking I've been doing. If not, I'll be in the same boat as you 🙂

..I switched over to rower and stationary recumbent..running nearly killed my knees and hip joints. Don't buy that crap no pain no gain if your hurting there's something wrong.

the sad thing is I used to do cross country actively a few years ago. 1 mile was an easy warmup. Gah I've really let my body go to crap.

Sweet; what kind of times did you run?

I know what you mean about letting yourself go. Even just one winter of inactivity killed me last year 🙁

I started running last week... cut my time for 1.5 miles by almost two minutes already. The gains are always easiest in the beginning though. For me it's literally an uphill battle... no flat land around here. :|

i should really stretch as every time i run, or walk really quickly on cement i get shin splints while running, but then they go away, is there a reason for this? i dont get them when on grass however.
