The *Other* Canadian Political Parties

Thought I'd post a little bit of humor coming out of a bitter election campaign.
The following parties were indeed registered with Elections Canada (minus Conservatives, Liberals, NDP, Greens), feel free to read the platforms...yikes!

Christian Heritage Party = 28273 votes
Progressive Canadian Party = 14446 votes
Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada = 9289 votes
Marijuana Party = 9266 votes
Canadian Action Party = 6201 votes
Communist Party of Canada = 3127 votes
Libertarian Party of Canada = 3003 votes
First Peoples National Party of Canada = 1340 votes
Western Block Party= 1094 votes
Animal Alliance Environment Voters Party of Canada = 72 votes

See that's what happens when you split the communist vote in two (Marxist-Leninist Party and Communist Party). Oh and the Marijuana Party lost steam when the NDP vowed for legalization of pot.

According to them, they are Progressive Conservatives or those were their roots. Sounds like PCs who didn't like the merger with the Alliance.

Just like the Christian Heritage Party who saw the Conservatives as a mainstream socially progressive party. And the Western Block who see the Conservatives as a national alternative representing all Canadians.
