Or maybe it's me who is dumb. this error appeared today and is associated with aim.exe. i can't get rid of this box and I can't shut down instant messenger to uninstall it. more importantly i don't want my supervisor to see this because they will know i'm running instant messenger on my computer. can someone tell me how to get rid of this annoying prompt. thank you.

Why can't you shut down AIM to uninstall? Do you not have the ability to control-alt-delete and end the program from task manager? What do you mean you can't get rid of the message? Is there no OK button?

I would assume that AIM is trying to access something in the atl.dll file which Microsoft has moved in whatever version your computer uses, since it's the "ATL module for Windows NT".

Can you reboot the computer so that AIM stops running? Change the properties in AIM to not load when Windows starts if necessary.
