At $1.95, I doubt that's his intention, even with the $7 shipping. It's a good idea, though. I'm not much of one for religion myself, but I can definitely see the niche served by his product. I'm sure there are people that would be interested in having a fully-configured system with all your basic applications, kid-protection stuff, and religious programs all set up out of the box. Sure, he's using Ubuntu to do most of his work for him, but that's open source for you. I'd wonder whether there aren't some trademark issues with what he's doing, though. I kind of doubt he can use Ubuntu in the name without that being infringement.

Someone on the ubuntu forums also tried to do this...maybe this is the same guy, or maybe someone else is selling that 😉 Who knows...

I was not aware computers had religions---they are machines---and not programmed by God---or Rush Limbaugh for that matter.

Ubuntu CE is freely downloadable and has been for a while. If there are any trademark issues, Ubuntu apparently doesn't have a problem with it since it was given it's own section in the Ubuntu Forums.

It actually looks pretty nice for a parent such as myself. It already has some easy to use content filtering set up to keep your kids out of the pr0n, which Christian or not, is something every sane parent would like.

And by the way, if you do want to purchase Ubuntu CE on a disc, I would suggest getting if from Ubuntu CE's "official" distributor: http://www.whatwouldjesusdownload.com/c...ntu/2006/10/purchase-official-cds.html

Bad christian! He's probably breaking the law by selling a disc that includes copyrighted characters (see the Nintendo Legend of Zelda wallpaper). Not that I care
