Uhhh who said AA is just meant for blacks? Last I checked, blacks weren't the only minority or "oppressed group" in the history of the United States.

I work for a federally funded company myself and AA is no fluff... it's taken pretty damn seriously as is pushing the inclusion of diversity. You can lose the ability to bid for contracts if you're caught discriminating and well... that's not a good thing

There are two interpretations of Affirmative Action though.
1) Basically, what you say in your post. Discrimination is not allowed.
2) The institution of racial quotas. This is the definition of Affirmative Action that many have problems with.
