The one thing that I miss most?

I remember when I was a kid laying outside and staring up at a sea of stars. Now, thanks in no small part to the expansion and urbanization of Baltimore, I can look up and count exactly four. No, wait, that one's a plane. Three.

My parents used to host Japanese exchange students every year, one thing they always did was take them out to my grandmother's house (which we later took over).

They were always speechless at the number of stars they could see.

Yeah. I like WV a lot for that. I don't like WV's lack of broadband, though. Lack of teeth and breeding stock is also a problem. I thought about WVU, but too many people from my HS are going there.

its not as bad as urbanites make it out to be

Point is that I used to live there. Unfortunately, the city grew.

Yeah, out here in the middle-o-nowhere, I really do notice how much brighter the moon is and how many more stars I can see. It's nice. Real quiet, too. There are a few other people who live out in this area, but most of them work from home or are retired, so there's hardly any traffic either.

Our old farm is located a few miles outside of a small town. The closest house is down the road about 1/2 a mile away and it's on a dead-end gravel road. On a clear night you can see the actual band of the Milky Way galaxy. It's also eerily quiet. All that is called for is a nice fire.

Fire is good, regardless of circumstance.

True - looking into a fire and staring at the stars - pretty hard not to feel human doing those things.

Yet another +1 for Montana. I can't believe how stupid I was to think that I had to go out-of-state for college, that I just had to "get away." One college transfer later, couldn't be happier.

I hate big cities. My home town's population is like 75k.
