The "old" Computer Shopper magazine

Who all remembers those 500-600 page issues of Computer Shopper, back in the day before the magazine become "modernized"??

I absolutely loved that huge magazine. I always felt like I could flip through it, and still never cover every page.

heh i would get them in the mail. i kinda felt sorry for the mailman.

it would be worhtless to bring it back. it would cost way to much. not to mention you can find better stuff online etc.

Yeah.. I guess the internet has changed that alot.

Kind of defeats the purpose of having a huge catalog, when almost everything is based off of e-commerce these days.

It was awesome back in the day, but the web and comparison shopping sites made it obsolete.

I'm not sure what I miss more... Those wacky Gateway 2000 ads, or the "Lab of Doom and Coke-Cola" articles 🙂

Nah. It was great in it's day and every issue was a treasure, but that was then and this is now. Be honest, if you're looking for a motherboard or the best RAM price it now takes seconds. Back in the old CS days it would take hours and you still could not be sure what was what since prices had changed since the time it went to press.

If you REALLY missed it you'd know it was the Lab of Doom and PEPSI Cola.
