I'm looking for a new desk . . . let's see what y'all are using. ;)

Right now I'm using a white plastic folding table from Sam's Club for a computer desk. Decent, and it's loooooooong, but it looks kinda ghetto, even though it's covered with two computers, monitors, modems, speakers, CDs, a laser printer, and a scanner.

I am currently using that POS, but as soon as my roommate moves out I will be upgrading to a much nicer desk since I will have an extra room.

My desk consists of a 6 foot countertop on 2 file cabinets. Its got 2 19 inch monitors, 1 13inch monitor, and a 27inch TV on top of it, as well as a CD tower, some books, 2 keyboards and 2 mouses ... a bit crowded

My desk is SAD you do not want to see it. I needed to compromise on desk size to have a properly setup home theater system in this room.

Wow... How do you possibly fit all that on top of a 6 ft countertop?

MY DESK

I came home from a week long trip and my wife had bought this and put it together for me. IT IS HUGE!!!

But I need the space... Waiting for my second 18" LCD for a dual monitor setup...

My Desktop

It's not much and it's a mess right now. Put the little hutch on myself with some spare pieces of wood we had around the garage. Just a temporary deal until I can get a new, bigger desk.

Here's my temporary surfing setup.

I'd suggest getting an 'L' shaped desk with the return on the right (if you're a right handed mouse user). It's SO MUCH better to have your elbow resting on a surface, rather than dangling in the air.

I built a desktop in my son's room in the shape of an 'L' for that reason. It's mounted in a corner exactly two feet up from the floor. That's standard keyboard height. The mouse sits right next to the keyboard at the perfect height for typing and resting your arm as you use the mouse. The monitor sits on an Enlight 7200 series desktop case, which puts it at perfect eye level.

Ornery,

Why are you trying to link us to your H drive?

I don't have a digital camera or I would show my set up.

I've noticed a theme here: Microsoft keyboards are very popular!

In my sig, you'll find pix of my wife's desk (Xena) and pix of my sister's desk (WidowMaker). The pix were taken to show off the paint/mod jobs I did on the cases, but you can still see the desks OK. I'll add some pix of my desk and the makeshift microwave cart/computer desk thing my server is on.
