I've been playing DR3, and I have to admit the Kinect integration is pretty good. Yelling "over here" and having zombies hear and swarm you is pretty nifty.

You know, I thought the PS4 would dominate as well - lower price point, slightly better hardware, good vibes coming into its launch and good vibes after a major successful launch week. But when I was pitching around my pre-orders on ebay, the PS4 got zero love, while people were begging me to relist the Xbox one after I pulled it. Weird but true.

Messed around with the upload studio tonight. Easy to use but limited in options. The multi-clip video offers no transition effects, which is unfortunate...at least I didn't see any. It also forces you to use all 5 slots before you can finish the clip. It's either 5 or none. Making a cool play in NBA 2K14 and then saying "Xbox record that" is pretty nifty. Worked every single time without a hitch, although I'm curious how it decides how much time to record in the clip. Sometimes it was 8 seconds, other times it was 20 seconds...I suppose it's guessing?
NBA 2K14 also records plays automatically and will tell you so, although for some reason it will auto-record great plays by the CPU team. It saved two or three highlights of me getting dunked on, I don't want that crap saved, haha.

COD looks like a flaming pile of crap, I couldnt believe how bad it looked and I would hate to see 360/ps3.

how could they have let this release? It looks so bad! I usually don't even give a crap about visuals but these are notably jaggy
Saw one for sale at Walmart tonight. One in the case, saw it picking up NFS rivals. Likely a return by a flipper as CL prices are $50 over retail.

Turns out the IR blasting doesn't work for me at all, it couldn't control my DirecTV box in the slightest. I think this is due to the Kinect looking straight at a big picture window. Even with the curtains closed, it couldn't do anything. I'm guessing there's nothing to bounce off of.
It's not a big deal to me though, as I'm not sure if I would've bothered using voice to control it. I'm fine with the remote. However I do LOVE the HDMI pass-thru. It's so sweet to be watching TV and I can quickly check a download or be notified a download is done. Before I'd have to switch the input on the TV and my receiver (it's an older receiver with no HDMI), now I don't have to bother with it. Quick switching between TV and a game is the killer app for me.

True but I kind of expect MS to get crushed in Europe so those sales are almost entirely US. 50-50 in the US is not a bad outcome for MS considering all that went on.

I tried Kinect Sports Rivals Preseason earlier, it worked very good, I was pleasantly surprised. The input lag is much improved over its successor and it never had an issue reading my inputs. Even making a fist for gas and opening my hand for the brake was spot on.
I just read about people listing their day one achievement codes on ebay and putting actual pics of the codes in the ad. I printed two I saw off and sure enough Kinect scanned them but they had been used lol
Is it just me or are there virtually no demos available? I was hoping to have some games I could try out. BF4, NFS, COD, Ryse, etc... When I browse to them my only option is to download for $60.
Amazon has been a pain to deal with. They weren't planning on shipping my 7/12 pre-order until 11/26... I had to contact them so they could overnight it. My coworker ordered his on 7/14 and had no problem with them shipping it in time - however his drive is DOA, can't insert any games or movies.
I was also pissed at Amazon for not price-matching AC4. I pre-ordered it for $60 and the first day I can play it they sell it for $49. Refused to match, gave me the option of returning it on my dime and re-buying. No thanks, guess I need to find another online retailer to buy through. Any recommendations?

Had a couple things hang with just a black background, one was the avatar editor, can't remember the others offhand. Had to reboot it once when it seemed like it just wasn't responding anymore.

Thought I'd make a note here, because Microsoft deserves some props for quick response.
IGN had an XB1 final/retail unit die on them. Their initial call to Xbox support basically ended with : "Well, send it back to Amazon, because they might be able to get you a new one before too long. If you send it to us, we will have to repair it, and that will take a while".
Insulting and a terrible suggestion given that Amazon has no XB1s in stock, only some scalpers on there with idiotic pricing currently (not Amazon internal stock).
But, less than ~12h later, Microsoft send a new message out to IGN, saying they were going to do express replacements for failed consoles directly. Considering that Sony already went that route with the PS4 BLOD, it was a very wise move I think. We can forgive a failed item that is quickly replaced with minimal hassles. We cannot forgive being punted down to a 3rd party vendor who might take many weeks to get us back to the game.

Thus far everything works as advertised for me. The kinect voice stuff was pretty spotty until I ran set-up but now it is fantastic. I love having the TV on pass-through and I'm looking forward to NFL Sunday and seeing how that app works. The controller is nice and feels good in my hands and I like the new headset although the Kinect is so good I see why they thought they could get away with going without.

Forza 5 is great. Cranking up the level of the Drivatars actually feels like you're racing against better players instead of the AI just driving "more perfect." That said, next drivatar that PIT maneuvers me will be hunted down and harassed in every game they play...

So far I am enjoying it, Forza 5 is what I expected but the audio/control is fantastic, visuals are also excellent. I really like the 'XBOX RECORD THAT!' and it grabs the last 30 seconds. I used this while playing my COD matches (yes I picked one FPS to use...) I do wish I could upload to you tube or share on social media....but among my Xbox friends is still pretty neat. Note on COD, I played side by side on my PC, and its pretty obvious the PC is king on visuals, but for a regular COD game...multiplatform...its solid. If I didnt already own Bf4 I'd think about getting it on the XB1 just because its so much damn fun. Curious to see comments here on how it runs...and I might be tempted to double dip...

Worldwide vs US & Canada. The PS4 has yet to ship to Europe, let alone other continents Considering the fact that SONY's weakest market was America and that Microsoft's console is geared towards everything America, I think SONY is in a very strong position. I prefer SONY products but will eventually get a XB1, PS3, 360 and PS4 within the next 6 months. There's something on every console that I want...
