Could be something in settings. I remember popping in cod last night and went away to do dishes/put stuff away and when I came back it was in the middle of installing.

The whole UI is a mess to figure out still. On the other hand the controller hasn't been charged since I bought the system and I've been using it quite a bit. That play charge kit does a decent job.

Anyone got the extended service plan from MS? Registered the device and when I go to check out online it just pops up a window with only a close button. Not sure how to continue and pay for it.

I assume you mean that Microsoft Complete warranty service?

http://www.windowscentral.com/why-microsoft-complete-coverage

"You can only buy Microsoft Complete during the 'add to cart' sequence when buying online from the Microsoft Store.

Update: As many have noted in comments, if you do buy a Surface or Xbox from another retailer, you can bring it into a Microsoft Store within 45-days to add Microsoft Complete. The Store will just need to see a receipt and that the item is in working order."

If that's what you want, you need to find a MS Store to buy the coverage.

Yea I looked on the website and my system is registered. It says I can buy it and I have 38 days to do it. It does let you add it to the cart and proceed but it looks like a JavaScript error when it asks me to select my address.

If I have to find an MS store to do it then I won't get it. Don't feel like lugging it with the receipt all the way to where I work to find a store. Sony let me do it through the website and I don't see MS isn't doing the same. Going to chat with them to see if they can help.

Maybe try a different browser too. Sometimes chrome or firefox acts up.

Yea tried ie and firefox, safari. Going to chat with them now. Figure it's worth having in case my ps4 breaks I have warranty for it too and at least I'll have one console working either way.

Ya. I did it for mine since I have white consoles and those cannot be guaranteed at the store. If I bought an in-store warranty they may have to replace it with a black one. Would be fine if I didn't really like the white lol.

That is odd. Sony offers their warranty through the console itself. On psn there is a way to extend the warranty. I am surprised Xbox doesn't have the same.

Here's a nagging annoyance I have with the XB1, with the XB360 I had to phone MS to remove my payment information when I didn't want to renew gold and looks like they just put you in a loop wanting you to add a different payment if you want to remove the one you have now, looks like I'll have to phone them again.

Well spoke with Xbox support and they have no idea why I can't purchase the plan online. Tried every single browser. They refer me to the micrsoft store support. Spoke witth them and they tell me to contact Xbox support within 45 days to purchase the plan.

On the XB1 go to settings > subscriptions and you can manage everything there.

Alternatively go to account.live.com and under payment and billing click manage subscriptions and you can cancel subscriptions right there if they are not pre-paid.

Finally got in contact with someone that knew how to place an order for me for the complete care plan. Got a confirmation email and it shows in the service order that I finally have warranty until nov 7 2017.

Yeah... not on the XB1, no option to remove, only to add. Looked there like a million times.

But account.live.com worked, except EA Access is still prevenint it from being removed.

PS- nevermind, managed to disable auto renewal on it.

I'm debating it. I liked the games a lot, but at the same time, they got old really quickly. I'd much rather see a new Beat Hazard myself.

i always enjoyed trying to get higher scores in geometry wars and cause they were quick plays. i hope this new version with "levels" and "bosses" doesn't really ruin that.

think im gonna get SO on thanksgiving since it's $40 at the MS store.

I've been playing SO more frequently recently... it definitely takes a little bit of work before the game gets really fun. Overall I don't think it is a $60 game, maybe $40, but probably $20-$30.

It could be because I suck though lol.

Saw 6 used copies of SO yesterday at EB Games, I was a little surprised- 3 weeks?
The game is average at best IMO. The online community is lacking players a bit from what I hear too. I don't even think the weekly challenge goal was met because not enough people are playing.

I finished it but really had to force myself to continue. It was fun but only for short bursts.

I'm not surprised. A lot of big games came out right after it (CoD, Halo, GTA, Far Cry, Assassin's Creed). I traded my copy in to get Halo, not because I didn't like it, but because I beat the campaign and most of the Achievements, and I didn't have much of anything left to do. I actually like the game quite a lot, and would say it and Mordor are the two best games I've played this year, and in a long time.

Shadow of mordor, dragon age, gta, far cry 4 are my top recommendations for sure. I forgot that so many games came out within a week or two of each other. That's a good point regarding used sunset overdrive copies.

I mean, I've been turned off by GTA for a long time now, not exactly a secret. The other two you listed are sequels to franchises I never touched (Dragon Age happened while I was boycotting EA, and Far Cry just never grabbed my attention). There aren't many games I'd call "must-have" on the generation so far, but Mordor is definitely at the top of the list, to me. OF course, if you don't like third-person action games, you probably won't like it.
