Bachmann seems intelligent? She accused Obama long time ago in the 2008 election that he wasn't Patriotic. Oh, please. They have no ideas that hold water. What I'm so flabbergasted with is how stupid our country's people have become. Hello...it's not a time to vote with panic in 2012. It was done in 2010. I don't think so. Let's raise taxes across the board if necessary. I used to live in VA. They even went into panic mode. Mark Warner who is now their state Democratic Senator, is also a well accomplished business man. I hope he considers running in the 2016 election, because he got us out of Jim Gilmore's mess. He was our governor. We were so much in debt. Mark raised taxes, and when we got things under control, he gave us some of it back lowering the food tax. We need to pay China back. With what? Chinese coins. LOL You keep cutting programs and money that's coming in for operating the government and the rest of what is necessary for our livelihood we're a goner. Right now the American people are scaring the hell out of me. I love my country.

PS... I don't think he will ever run. I know he likes the idea but he likes playing around with off the wall ideas. As a kid, he wanted to be Jerry Lewis. I always thought he'd go into show business and comedy writing, but just another passing idea he had.
your prescience is impressive ;)

According to the AP, Jon Huntsman is making it official June 21.

His move comes a day after a debate in New Hampshire, a state he'll play for, which he said he would not take part in because he hadn't yet jade up his mind about running.

He's announcing his campaign in New Jersey, at Liberty State Park - home to the statue - a setting that doesn't have much to do with his roots or a natural constituency (like, say, a Mitt Romney announcement based in New Hampshire, or a Michele Bachmann announcement in Iowa.

But he's making his move right after the stumble of Tim Pawlenty, who has created an opening for other Mitt Romney alternatives.

I don't know your political affiliation, but you sound like a reasonable person here.

I didn't watch the debate but based on reports I saw this morning, here's what I don't get:

Supposedly one of Bachmann's big coups of the debate was using it to announce her candidacy for president. Why would that be a big deal? Of course she was going to run for president, why would she attend the debate if she had no intention of running?

I saw part of this. The candidates were MUCH better than that debate last month.

They're looking much more ready for prime time.

To those of you complaining of a lack ideas and that they just kept saying Obama was bad and that they weren't Obama. Well, that just may be the best strategy to win. Not a whole different than what the Dems did in '08; they ran and won on not being GWB.

It's the first thing she's ever been right about ...
