They will start a beta for ps now with ps3. If you signed up a while ago for information about it, that's how they randomly choose who will get in. It will be a while before it even makes it to ps4.

Of all the hd remakes, this one makes the most sense. A lot of gamers jumped from the 360 to the ps4, so there will be a market for people that heard great things but never played it. In a time where Sony could use all the money they can get, why not make a chunk of this game?

I think this could be more than just an HD remake though. It is possible they went back and used some of the original assets that had to be scaled down for the PS3 and used them at higher resolution so a lot of the textures can look cleaner etc.

Doesn't HD remake imply the the original game wasn't in HD? Last of Us was 720p and the move to 1080p with a little AA thrown in with crisper textures could make a big difference visually.

So, I just got a beta invite for that PS Now service. Anyone have experience with it? I haven't really been paying attention to it.

btw, I'm on a PS3, not a PS4.

DUDE. Wtf... I signed up for the beta months ago. Super Jealous. Here's the signup page for anyone that's interested.

That was exactly my take from it. I can't wait for this.

I got the invite yesterday.

As far as TLOU. When I finished it, I Immediately fired it back up for a 2nd play through (which I have NEVER done on a single player game). I've played through it 3 times and still love it.

If it comes to the PS4 with enhanced visuals, I'll buy it and play through for my 4th, 5th and probably 6th times. IT'S THAT GOOD!

Just curious, as I never ever replay a story-based game (since I already know the story). What's there on the 2nd or 3rd run that you hadn't done before?

Although maybe it's better if I don't know, as I always rent games. Play them once and return them, saves me a lot of mullah 🙂

For Last of Us there's New Game+ where you keep all your upgrades and start that way. Some games have choices you can make throughout the way that affect parts of the story, LOU doesn't have that but it's still a great experience and on my second playthrough I tried to do things a different way. Like I'd try doing silent only kills at certain parts just to challenge myself.

Yeah... pretty much this. The 2nd time through is a little easier because you have knowledge and you already have some upgrades. But, for me it was also a challenge to try to ensure that I explored even more to get all of the hidden "stuff".

As a stated before, this is the first single player game that I have ever replayed. But it was very fun the 2nd and 3rd times through.

so new PS4 owner here. Got it quite accidently. I was browsing for something game related on Amazon and saw there were some used ps4 being sold by Amazon warehouse for 255. I ordered without thinking since the price was almost half of a brand new one.

I ordered Infamous Second Son with it. I have played it for a bit but find the game to be getting repetitive. The combat is boring so far(smoke shots and chain melee). Flying around was fun for a little while. Does the game get any better?

I also have Killzone but have not opened it yet. Many people have complained the game sucks, so maybe I should return it.

Are there any other games worth trying?

I liked infamous a lot. It is repetitive but then so is every shooter ever where you shoot and reload. So is every action game ever etc. I mean...you get new powers as you go through the story and they are a lot better IMO. So keep going and you should like it more as it progresses.

I really liked assassins creed and tomb raider as well. If you can find knack cheap that's worth looking at too.

Infamous is a lot of fun. You get more powers and upgrade them as you progress and collect the drone shards. Killzone is graphically amazing but it's boring and the story is meh.

I honestly traded it in once I was done with killzone because I didnt feel it was very fun. Only reason I played it was because I wanted to finish the story which sucked.

But the mp in killzone is decent, something different and you may like that part.

Yeah killzone MP is great but the community is very small. I liked the single player at first but the story bogged down and none of the characters were very interesting nor was the level design after the first 3 or so missions.

I thought Assassin's Creed 4 was great. I played it on the PC, but it's the same on PS4. Silly story, but it looks great, the combat and exploration are as fun as they've been in the AC series and the naval battles are awesome. Worth playing if you have any interest in Assassin's Creed OR an open-world pirate game.

Black Flag is my most played game on my PS4. It has tons of content and it is magnificent looking and sounding. The music/shanties don't get enough credit in this game. The actual story mode missions are kind of hit and miss for me. I have had the most fun upgrading the Jackdaw, finding upgrade plans, conquering the forts, and the beating the legendary ships (still have 3 left). Highly recommended if an open world pirate game sounds like fun.

Killzone was terrible for me... traded it in after 5-6hrs of gameplay.

That's a Lie! That's a Lie! That's a Lie...Lie...Lie!

I hate combat in Assassin's Creed, all the assassin stuff to me was the worst part of the game. Listen to this person's conversation, assassinate this person, follow this person, plus you always get stuck on something you didn't intend to when climbing, they still haven't gotten it right. But yes, being a pirate was so damn fun.

It was better when there were more rooftops and alleyways in the European setting. This is why I really wish they would do Feudal Japan as well.

Target doing a buy 2 get 1 free sale on all games next week.

Nice chance to pick up the newest and most expensive games like Infamous for $39.99 months before you will ever see them on sale by themselves.

Same goes for any Mario/Zelda/Pokemon/etc games that never go on sale.

PS the return value is prorated and the discount is treated as 33% off each title, so you can get Infamous and two other random games for $120 then immediately return the other two for $80 back and still get the deal even if there aren't two other games you want.

Might be time to get a few more DS games that I didn't buy and never see sales.

Yoshi's New Island and Mario Party Island Tour for $26 😀

I really hate when I can't use these deals on older games that I never grabbed or played with someone else and never bought myself like Super Mario Galaxy because of those stupid Greatest Hits/Platinum Hits/Nintendo Selects packaging. HATE them.

Really wish I could buy them new still and support the developer (since these sales are by the retailer) but when they pull that crap I'm forced to find used first print copies.

I have yet to continue playing black flag. I think I'm about 30% through at the moment. The gameplay does get repetitive and every game has had the getting stuck or climbing on something you didn't want to. I'll finish it eventually but after the first couple of missions I haven't got back into it.
