This is the biggest downfall but yet biggest potential advantage here for MS over Sony, MS has a much bigger ecosystem with their PC side to draw from. I'm not sure if the political ads were a good place to start though.

Sony could jump in with Google to get targeted ads on the Playstation by having an option to log into your Google account. 😛

I'm old school though, I prefer no targeted ads at me at all while I game.

I don't use Bing nor Windows 8 apps so I don't know how they'll get that type of info. The original article seemed to point to MS looking for huge paychecks to be written out to them from one party or another. They must be feeling the pressure of the PS4 a little more than I thought.

got my replacement ps4 controller back over the weekend. while i didn't try to play it, is that outlast game still free on psn for ps+ users or did they replace it with a new one?

It's now dead nation that is free. You may want to log in and check if outlast is free for you. I deleted it but it still shows free for me on my psn account. Probably since I downloaded it once before.
 
Dead Nation is pretty fun. I've played through the first two chapters and am enjoying it. Pretty mindless running, shooting, and scavenging around for money, but I like it.

A game that's "purchased" for free while under PS+ will always be free. I think the only thing is that you cannot play it unless you subscribe.

I usually check the PSN Store every week or two to pick up the free stuff regardless of how much I play my PS4. It's easy, and I can do it on my PC, which I'm probably on already. 😛
 
Driveclub Has Been Taken 'Back To The Drawing Board,' May Not Release In 2014

Evolution's Driveclub was one of the first PlayStation 4 games to be announced over a year ago. It was later scheduled to release at the system's launch in November with a special PS4 Instant Game Collection edition. In October it was announced that the game would be delayed into 2014 and now it seems that that might not even happen.

On the positive side, it's nice to see them not rushing a product that they don't believe is as good as it needs to be. And this one needs to be good.

I think it's more than that... It'll need to be very well polished, in every respect. Because YOU KNOW everyone will compare it to Forza to proclaim as yet more evidence to which console is better.

I'm not much into racing, but I don't understand why they aren't working on porting a polished, higher-res version of GT6 to PS4, given the good reviews the PS3 version got.

The stuff they wanted to do...like the social side of the game with challenges etc. Probably didn't work and they have to reinvent the game over again cause what they had ideas for could not function right
 
So I just picked up a PS4. What titles should I get, and which should I avoid? I picked up Madden 25 because I am a football fan, but I don't see any real 'killer app' games at this point. Or am I mistaken?

Go and reserve infamous second son. Comes out next Friday. Nba2k14 is great too. If you are a fan of battlefield 4 you can get that, it's had less issues than on pc. Assassins creed black flag is good too.
 
Get all the freebies if you have Playstation Plus. Assassins Creed 4 is REALLY good on the ps4. I have it on both the ps3 and ps4 and the difference is quite noticeable and aside from the differences, it's a really great game.

I agree with sze5003... Infamous Second Son promises to be the first REAL next gen title for the ps4.

Resogun is really a good game... I played it this morning even. I recommend it a lot. However, it's not the system seller that you may be looking for. The graphics are great, but aside from the insane amount of particles, it's nothing that couldn't have been made for the last gen hardware.
 
How about Tomb Raider? Worth the price of admission on PS4, or assuming I get PSN when I get it hooked up, just nab on PS3?

If it's free in ps3 you can get it there. It's a graphical redo of the pc edition for the ps4 and x1. Definately looks better on ps4 than ps3. Make sure you get infamous.
