Meh, i'm on the fence only thing that is stopping me is the 2300mah battery I want to see a review b4 pulling the trigger

That and the camera. I want to jump back to Android but I've been spoiled by the excellent iPhone 5s battery life and camera. Maybe I should look at G2 or S4. 32 gb N5 is over $450 after shipping and tax and I might be able to find S4 or G2 in that price range.

Why if this even a big deal ??
3G or HSPA+ is plenty fast.

I suppose because we get used to certain speeds. 3G is only a couple Mbps down and generally less than 1 up in the US. I think at last count T-mobile had the fastest 3G at a whooping average of 3Mbps hitting 5Mbps in some places. That's slow.

I don't think I'm asking for that much. 4G is everywhere.

Tracking number hasn't gone into UPS' system yet. Last year with the N4 my phone arrived the following morning. Be interesting to see if this one does too (and I don't want to wait over the weekend!)

Did your original order state within 5 days it would be shipped? Or did it say 1-2 days?

I got shipping confirmation this morning as well. Placed the order at 2:08:35 PM EDT, shipping time was listed as by Nov 5th.

Viper GTS

Thanks. Mine should ship today then. My order time was 2:08:06 EDT, listed as shipping by Nov 5. But then again, Canada, so there's that.

Said on 11/5 in one spot and by 11/5 in another. Don't remember which is which.
Tracking number still isn't valid yet, so it hasn't left the warehouse.

Interesting. Thanks. That's what mine says too. Still nothing for me though. Lazy Canadians....

It says mine shipped yesterday, but when I track it, it says no such tracking number exists nice :-( On a side note, does anyone know if the wireless charger for the Nexus 4 will work on the Nexus 5?

Yes any Qi charger will work.

I've used the same chargers for my last two phones, & the N5 will make three. Four I guess if you count the 2013 Nexus 7.

I have the same worries about battery life. I was also going to wait for reviews before buying but I thought that if I did that I'd have to wait weeks to get one. So I decided to buy it on day one(shipping by November 5th) and make my own judgments about battery life. If I'm not satisfied(for me that would be like 16 hours off charger with ~4 hours screen on time) I can always return it or, based on the low supply and high demand, even sell it on eBay for a profit.

I can definitely see wanting LTE if you're living somewhere but you're just traveling.
I'm in Asia traveling right now and 3G is more than capable for what I need.
Need to look up something ?? Maybe use the GPS. What could you possibly need TLE for if you're traveling ??

Awesome. I ordered mine at 11:10am. If Google is shipping these out as first come first served then hopefully my shipment isn't too far behind.

sweet, mine shipped. last time with the N4 it was delivered before the tracking number even showed any progress. these are shipped directly from a UPS warehouse

I thought about ordering the 32gb version last night to test for myself too. But 3 weeks shipping is too slow and by then there should be plenty user reviews. And I don't want to have to deal with the world's worst retailer to cancel an order. I remember the hassle I went through last year at N4 launch to cancel my order. I will probably wait til Amazon and Bestbuy have it and reconsider then.

I think I'm glad I went with the G2 rather than waiting for the Nexus 5 considering I got my 32GB G2 at the same price as the 32GB Nexus 5.

for the people who received shipment emails .. what size/color?

still waiting on my confirmation, 32GB black

It depends on how soon your ordered. If you ordered within the first 5 minutes, then you should be among the those to receive the first batch of phones, and yours should be shipping soon (if not already).

Otherwise, you'll have to wait a few days, or even a few weeks to get your phone. It's first-come first-serve.

I ordered a 32GB Black at Oct 31, 2013 12:06:37 PM PDT, and I went to cancel it now (I was a bit bummed at the reviews of the battery life) and it says
"We cannot cancel your order, as it is already being prepared for delivery. If you haven't already, you will receive an email with your order status soon. For further assistance, including returns and refunds, please visit the Google Play Help Center."

I thought this was interesting since it implies that it will ship today or tomorrow - which could be interesting for the rest of you who are curious when yours will ship.

As far as me cancelling it, I will get it, play with it, and see how well it integrates with the security policies of my company and how well the battery life in the real world compares to my iPhone 5 and then decide if I want to keep it, return it or sell it on Ebay.

Last year I ordered 2 x Nexus 4 phones on launch, but decided after I only wanted one.

I got the identical message. I was told by Google Customer Support they could not cancel it. It was almost a full week later before they actually shipped. Pissed me off. They told me not to accept the shipment when it arrived. It was returned in about 5 days back to Google. From this point, it was about another 30 days before my Credit card was refunded.

I wasn't a fan of the experience.

Does anyone know if the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will get KitKat?

I still can't complain about my phone and have no need to replace it yet.
