i feel sorry for the people who paid $55 to watch this on ppv. i have 0 interest if no one's going to get knocked down and it goes to the scorecard. mayweather has a large number of his victories by decision. what ever happened to trying to knoc out your opponent instead of playing this slap boxing stuff?

Damn, Mayweather is very cocky in his after match interview.

That's why I hate that asshat. He barely won the fight, too.

According to the judges he barely won it. Watching the fight it seemed to me like Mayweather was in full control. I didn't think it was as close as the judges.

this fight reminded everyone why lightweight fights are boring. it was a freaking pillow fight.

at the least the undercard allowed some guy to get beat up.

Nope. I was pretty surprised at the split decision.

Sad. Predictable, but sad.

Well He mocked DLH wearing a mexican hat, lol
He threw more than 100 punches less, but landed 70 plus more
He landed more power shots
He was still pretty after the fight and DLH's face was noticeably red
And to add injury to insult, He only weighed 148 for the fight tonight
He's 38-0
He is "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather

Pretty boring fight imho. At least with UFC you know there will be at least one or two good fights.

I still can't believe he did that...

He landed more power shots

Yeah, but De La Hoya's power shots were more powerful. But yes, Mayweather did fight a much better fight.

He was still pretty after the fight and DLH's face was noticeably red

Really?

To me, it looked like each fighter could have gone a few more rounds, but between the two, Mayweather had a bit more swelling and looked a bit more tired.

Who said that?

I think he fought a great, smart fight.

He knew what he had to do -- land more punches no matter how soft and stay away from the big left -- and he executed perfectly

Despite his mouth, he's an extremely smart fighter

Wow, I hope nobody taped the fight with plans to watch it later in the night after reading your complete spoiler of a thread title summary. That'd be a quick waste of $55.

They'd be an idiot to pay that much to tape it when it is on youtube, and it is all over the internet so they should stay off

What happened to gracious winners? I don't think anyone is taking jabs (teehee) at Mayweather's skills, but he's not exactly a people's champ, is he? He's way too full of himself.

Have you ever watched a boxing match? They all talk with confidence and say the things they do. Ali, Roy, Oscar, Shane, Floyd, Lennox, Spinks, and the rest say the same thing, "I'm the best..."
