***The Official*** How to install a mod in "Far Cry".

For anyone that wants to know how to install/use a mod (in FAR CRY) for .eg. the "Matto3" mod all you do is this:

1..Go to the list of mods here for the "Matto 3" mod and save it to your PC....One good thing about this site is you won't have to wait 2hr to get a mod.

2..After you save it to your PC, run it.

3..When it comes to the part where they ask you, "where do you want to install the mod to", the easiest way i found is to install it to your desktop.

4..Wait don't go all crazy on me just yet, hear me out, the reason i say install it to your desktop, is cause this is the easiest way i found to install/use this mod.

5..Now here is what you do, there should be 3 files that been installed on your desktop.

6..Open your far cry folder, if you didn't change anything it should be like this:

7.."C:\Program Files\UBISOFT\Crytek\Far Cry", look for the folder called "levels" and "mods" now place each folder "contents" on your desktop( the One you have just installed) in their respective places.

8..Then start up Far Cry like normal and go to the mods menu, choose the mod "Matto3", the program will restart and then run fine.

9..Enjoy....

IIRC there is a way to launch the mod directly from the shortcut, instead of launching the original FC, selecting the mod from the menu, and having to restart.

Why not just click the .exe you just downloaded and direct it to install to your Far Cry base directory

I wanted to point that out too.

And as mentioned before, to launch the mod directly, point the shortcut to e.g.:

"D:\Far Cry\Bin32\FarCry.exe" -mod:Matto3

Like i said "this was the easiest way i found", but you tell me which would be more easier to understand placing 2 folders in in their respective folders or typing:.....

"D:\Far Cry\Bin32\FarCry.exe" -mod:Matto3 ......that.

Any way everyone has their way of using a mod.
