How many times did it happen to you that you've learned of a new cool feature, web site, whatever that you never knew existed, and thought to yourself "hey this is great, everyone should know about it...!"

Well to me it happened more than once, and many times I learned of cool stuff from posts I read here.
This thread is an attempt to collect cool "good to know" stuff, into a single thread which will be a nice and easy reference for anyone who wants to learn.

Here are my first 2 contributions (I assume many of you already know about it, but for me it's sort of new and useful):

1. A nice suggesting search engine from google.
2. feature: if you have a wheel in your mouse, you can increase/decrease font size by holding down the CTRL button and move the wheel.

Please feel free to add any thing you think might be useful.

1. When driving, if you see a ball, there's usually a kid not far from it
2. Never let a man watch your children, even if you think you can trust him.
3. In FF CTRL+L goes to the web address and CTRL+K goes to the quick search
4. In FF CTRL+1,2,3,etc... goes to the different tabs
5. Windows key + E opens up windows explorer (my favorite)
6. Windows key + D shows the desktop, press it again, and it brings everything back up
7. Windows key + F brings up the Find program
8. Windows key + R brings up the Run program
9. Search Google for a man, answer his question once, teach a man to use Google, answer his questions for life.
10. Be patient with the struggling, it'll make you a better person.

 nice!

my contributation...use quotes first for a search, then search without them

There is a difference between their, there, and they're.

Their = It belongs to them; That is their ball.
There = The ball is over there
They're = They are; They're playing with a ball.

All together now

They're playing with their ball over there.

Something musta happened for him to mention that....?

In Firefox, CTRL + W closes a tab. This is helpful if you get a weird popup, such as email on some sites, and your tab bar is gone but you were using other tabs in the window.

Also, if you want to reorganize your start menu, all you have to do is go to any folder in it, right click, and sort by name. I always find it frustrating when using others' computers and I have to search for the application I need because everything is out of order.

the pic in your sig is hot, but your posts are bizarre.

Care to point me to a forum where they would be appropriate?

didn't say they were inappropriate...just bizarre....like someone quoting a physics book and posting homework questions from a Mechanics of Materials course...
