did they stop giving them out ????

it's random, there is no real formula to determine how. on average though, some people say it's about two to three days after you have your account. i have heard of some people who got their invites just one day after they got their account, i also have a friend who have not get any invites after about a week of getting his account.

try using it more, subscribe to a high volume mailing list to make it active, you might have a better chance of getting your invites sooner.
 
I'd laugh if they'd make everybody select a new account name when the application goes from Beta to Production. I also cannot believe there are 5000+ GMAIL eBay auctions. One loser from Germany has listed 990 of these auctions. This is absolute lunacy.
 
And then there are these idiots who are rushing and paying big bucks to register a vanity name. Don't they realize they are going to be spammed to death?

When they started offering the .name domains the registry companies were all hyping it up about how important it was to register your name before it was gone. Duh, I don't think I've seen a SINGLE .name site. The power of herd mentality.
