Eating the Bacon Ranch Waygu burger from Arby's now, holy shit this is really good for a fast food burger. Nice thick 6oz patty that's cooked partially sous vide then delivered and they deep fry it for 3 minutes. At least that's what I read on a web site somewhere. It's super juicy and has good flavor. I lost count of how many dry ass burgers I've gotten from Carl's & JiTB over the past 5 years. I know the Waygu's a gimmick as I'm sure it's only like 5% and it's the American Waygu style. But this is definitely a step up and better than a Thickburger from Carl's. $9.99 for the burger & $13.49 for the combos not cheap but I think a thickburger combo's the same price.

This is an LTO, but with all the good feedback maybe they'll make it permanent, they really should. For a place that's never had one to make one that's better than just about every other fast food place is pretty impressive. Even with all the positive reviews I've seen, I'm still shocked at how good it is. They also have crinkle cut fries which is another win for them.

was yours fresh? mine tasted like they'd made it about 15 minutes earlier.

super freaking messy too... they somehow got sauce all over the inside AND outside of the foil wrapper.

it was still decent but i'll probably go back to getting roast beef there instead.

I was surprised...for their first burger, they did a really good job! FYI it's sous-vide too!

There's no way I'm paying $10 for a burger from Arby's.
I finally had a kobe burger while I was on vacation, and I'd just as soon have a regular burger, not worth the upcharge IMO.

Word on the street is the Ch'King will be leaving Burger King this fall.
And with that, I'll have no reason to visit them, guess I'll just go a little further down the road to Popeye's when I want a chicken sandwich.
I guess I could finally give the KFC chicken sandwich a try too, but I don't even know where the nearest KFC is without checking a map.

Why would they get rid of the Ch'King?

Can't count how many reviews I've seen that say this is the only good thing at BK and the only reason they go there. Makes total sense they would drop it.

Had a Triple Bacon Cheesy Jack from JiTB last night. 3 patties + Bacon + crumbled Bacon + Bacom Mayo + 2 slices of cheese and a cheese sauce. Wasn't very Bacon'y considering it's got triple bacon. Was hella cheesy though, and I love cheese so it was right up my alley. Probably a bit too much though. The sauce was some sort of cheddar or something, the others were probably American and maybe Jack. It was a lot of damn cheese with no notes sticking out. Was actually surprised at how juicy it was, patties were very small though so even with 3 of them, it didn't seem all that big.

I would eat it again, but knowing Jack most of their LTO's only stick around for like 3-4 weeks and I'm not sure how long this one has been back. I remember what I think was this burger from 2020 but it had a cheddar bun. For the health conscious they have a double version which only has 2 patties, 2 kinds of cheese and 2 types of bacon. With how small the patties are, a double would be like a single from most places.

They also have some monstrosity box that looks to be 20 chicken nuggets + a bunch of tiny tacos + and what looks to be 2lbs of curly fries. Oh, with like 4 different dipping sauces. I might try this if they used their spicy popcorn chicken instead of nasty nuggets. even though the combination of chicken + tacos makes no sense lol. But it's clearly aimed at the stoners so I'm sure they'll eat it up. It costs $20 and at least by the photo looks like enough food for a family. Or a really hungry really high stoner could probably polish it off.

Wife took the kids camping last weekend. I bought them a couple of packages of 'Mega Stuf' Oreos to take with them. They didn't end up eating them because they had too many other junk food snacks so I tried some when they got home.

There's a sweet spot in the amount of filling in an Oreo and I think it's Double Stuf. Original is a bit too cookie-forward. Because of that the Thins are atrocious. I always preferred Double Stuf but was open to the possibility of more Stuf. Mega Stuf is essentially quadruple Stuf and it's just too much Stuf. It's even not as good as two Double Stufs split and smashed together. I think that's because the Stuf in a Mega Stuf is softer Stuf so they can pipe it easier in larger quantities.

Conclusion: Double Stuf is so far most appropriate amount of Stuf.

Agreed, I too thought more than a double stuff would be great but I too found mega stuff simply too much “stuff”.

i don't eat 5 at a time like i did as a kid, now it's 1 or possibly 2 a day

so i gotta freeze them to keep them fresh

I haven't made chocolate chip cookies in years but I used to love them frozen. Thin mint cookies as well. Never tried a frozen Oreo, but I have had them fried.

Back when I ate Oreos, I would buy Double Stuf and put two together, discarding the unnecessary cookie parts. The original Oreo wasn't even worth eating unless you doubled it up.
I'd probably feel differently now, with my vastly lower sugar consumption, but Oreos still aren't good enough to justify their caloric content.

Had the Angry Mac from Angry Chickz, at least 1 nationwide chain should take notice of how these small guys do spicy. They have 11 locations. Their hottest you have to sign a waiver, I asked if this was normal heat and just a gimmick to ramp up sales, or a gimmick for the rare people who want to punish themselves. She said "it's not a joke" As much as I've been looking for heat locally that makes me tap out, I had rode my electric scooter there and it was a good 8 miles. So I didn't want to eat them and have cramps for an hour while I was having to ride a scooter home. One level below that was "x-hot call 911" the next was "hot" They have a sign posted for no refunds for hot or x-hot, they are both super hot so go for medium. I asked about hot, was told it's Ghost Pepper. I decided to try that to save potential stomach pain if 911 was legit.

level 3 of 5 (hot) was HOT. Pretty instant mouth burn, throat was hot, lips were uncomfortably tingling. I enjoy these things so I was pretty impressed that only 3 out of 5 heat was doing this to me. Most places the spiciest they offer's like a mild to me. 10 minutes pass and I started to get slight stomach cramps. A few more minutes and they were more noticeable. They told me level 4 is about 2x as hot as 3 and 5 is only for crazy people. This means level 4 would probably ruin my afternoon and level 5 would ruin my day. Would appear the sign a waiver is not just a gimmick but it's real deal. The cramps lasted about 20 minutes. For comparison, I thought the Reaper wings from BWW were pretty damn spicy and had my mouth almost uncomfortably hot, but I suffered zero cramping. And BWW has them as a food challenge on the menu where if you eat 10 of them in 5 minutes you win a shirt or something. I could easily do it and honestly I'm probably only a medium level when it comes to chili heads. I plan to go back when I'm not riding my scooter or driving and maybe brave level 5.

I know a big fast food chain would never have a sign a waiver level hot, but one of them should have something along the lines of the the "hot" here. As spicy as it was, it was also very tasty. It was Mac & Cheese and fries with dipped chicken strips and some sort of sauce drizzled on top. The sauce wasn't spicy at all. Was a huge portion so I ate off it 4 times over the next 24 hours. And all 4 times I got cramps. Which is probably not a selling point for sane people lol.

Wtf is "Angry Chickz" ?? o_O

EDIT: Evidently THIS is "Angry Chickz".....

Yeah, the owner isn't bullshitting, when I asked how spicy it really was and told them I love super hot food, the chick working recommended I still start with the medium to see. I still went with hot, but if that gave me cramps I'm going to assume the medium would be even pushing it for normal people. "hot" will be unbearable for all but chili heads. One of my Mexican friends took 1 small bite of a pickle from my fries and she was upset at me and said "who wants food that's this spicy? this is stupid." lol And she normally does fairly well with spice. She'll never eat it again lol.
