They killed it because it was meh. And Wendy's nugget sauces are all gross tasting.

Wendy's in San Nicholas, Aruba, had fried chicken. First time seeing Wendy's selling fried chicken legs and thighs. I didn't order it but did get Dave's Double. It was very good and better than the ones I tried in the States. I also tried Burger King there. The menu was the same and the Whopper was equally horrible. It's sad how terrible the Whopper and Burger King have become. Whopper used to be so great back in the 80's. Now the meat is thin and tastes like it's mixed with bread fillers and is microwaved. Burger King has to be the worst fast food burger franchise now and the Whopper is complete crap. I'm worried Burger King will ruin Popeyes now they bought them.

Went to Sonic because F it and had the best double cheese burger. Haven't been there in about four months.

Wendy's has, in my mind, the best chicken nuggets and the best spicy chicken sandwich of any of the national chains. That being said I always thought their spicy chicken nuggets were gross.

It isn't national, but have you eaten at Chick-Fil-A? Love their nuggets & grilled chicken sandwiches.

Chick-Fil-A is a license to print money. Outside of right when they open, I've never seen on which wasn't packed with customers.

Chick-FIl-A is amazing. They dominate their competition with avg sales per restaurant at around $4 million a year. There's no one even close, not even McDonald's which has avg sales around $2.5 million. And Chick-Fil-A does this even though they're closed on Sundays. Truly remarkable.

I genuinely don't get it. The food is bland and lines are long. It does seem that every party there except me has kids though. Maybe the kids just scream loud enough.

It's cheaper than the competition. Food is good. Amazing service. Extremely clean restaurant. All condiments and napkins available in neat organized areas. Did I mention amazing service? I think that needs to be repeated for the third time. Amazing service for fast food restaurant.

The service is definitely better than many other places. I don't know if I'd say amazing. I don't go there very often, but I always seem to get the questionably legal teen who looks like he's about to pee his pants when I just walk up and say "Number three with cheese and lemonade for here". He'll then ask me what number I want, if I want cheese, what I'd like to drink, and if it's for dine-in.

I don't know, I'm not really impressed with the place, but they do seem to be generally cleaner than other fast food. I wouldn't say it's any cheaper than Wendy's for what you get. The chicken quality seems a little better than most places, but it's almost completely tasteless. I guess I'm not their target audience. :p

It's cheaper than Wendy's. I always get combo #1 which is the Chick-fil-A sandwich meal with waffle fries and a drink. That's $5.89 at my local Chick-fil-A. Chicken sandwich entree is $3.09. It's cheaper than McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, etc. I never order the spicy sandwich. I just add the free Texas Pete hot sauce and mayo to the regular Chick-fil-A sandwich. And if you use the Chick-fil-A app, you can customize your meal anyway you want and pay for it with the app. They'll even bring it out your car and you can skip the long drive-through lines. The app is great. The Chick-fil-A sandwich is little salty but I guess people prefer salt. Chick-fil-A and Zaxby's chickens are salty.

I have eaten at one once, it was at a shopping center in Atlanta. I had a chicken sandwich and waffle fries. I remember the waffle fries as being pretty damn tasty and the chicken sandwich as being nothing special. It was a standard chicken sandwich, not a spicy one.

It takes me 2 minutes and 40 seconds to eat a McDouble. I don't know why I wanted to know that.
Has this been monitored over multiple McDoubles?

Yeah, their nuggets are the best. Are there any other fast food places that use non-processed meat for their nuggets?

You crazy.
Overall it does sound like your experiences there are quite different than the ones here though, line isn't usually more than three deep when I go, and the cashiers are all competent. Guess those factors are probably related.

No I'm in agreement with him that CFA is overrated. Been there 3x no need to go back.

no arguments there but it's $1.29 and available 24/7, even on Sundays.
I'll just pony up the extra dimes for a double cheeseburger so I can have some flavor!
Even the McDouble doesn't do it for me, weird how much difference that slice of "cheese" makes.

yeah, it's weird. Chik Fil-A easily was once the most expensive in their class, by far. A lot of this is because when younger, it would take 2 sandwiches + nuggets to satiate me compared to a single 2x QPer at McD's. I think that while Wendy's, BK, McD or whatever offerings have inflated in cost over recent years, Chik Fil-A has done so at a slower rate, or not at all? Maybe they pack in more calries per item, so...more efficient for fatties? I don't know, but for whatever reason, I seem to recall being about to get away from McD's $3 poorer and satisfied, compared to about $6-7 at Chik Fil-A, roughly 18 or so years ago. Now, it seems like Chik Fil-A has the same comparative costs as everyone.

The newish Spicy Chicken there is just awesome.

Son, that's like a QBert at Chiptole type of review. :colbert:

(OK, the bland part--which isn't your claim, iirc--anything can pretty much be overrated, even glorious In-N-O can be considered overrated for various reasons, even though they are the best)

Forgive me FSM for the words that are about to come out of my mouth, but I think I am gradually drifting towards the shake shack camp.

I've been eating CFA since the 80's and they definitely were the most expensive back in the day. But everyone raised the prices so high, CFA is now the cheapest. CFA prints money now and can pass on the savings to their customers. Since they're private company, they don't have to ruin their business by trying to please Wall St.

I don't care for Spicy Chicken sandwich. You're paying $0.26 extra for more salt and little pepper. Just add the free Texas Pete hot sauce.

we don't get Texas Pete (at Chik Fil-A) in MD! Just that stuff they call "buffalo sauce" ...it's actually OK, but I think they put eggs in that shit for some reason. Still, I eat it.

I go with the Spicy Chicken b/c Wendy's spicy chicken is/was my long-time favorite fast food anything. I never went back, though, after trying Chik Fil-A + pepperjack cheese and lettuce tomato. It's worth it, imo. But damn if those sandwiches aren't super salty. I have to drink about 4 extra liters of water on days that I eat those things (kinda true for most FF these days, but for whatever reason, it's worse with Chik Fil-A considering the lower mass of foodstuffs I consume from them compared to others)

I do find the variation in CFA's spicy chicken interesting, even within the same sandwich some bits are spicier than others. Sometimes the overall spice is quite low, other times it's got a nice little punch to it.
