Also, there is a reason why the creators put the "likes/dislikes" part in the form... Please use it as a basis to start the search for your perfect ss gift. Also, I have found that searching a persons posts really can tell you a lot of good/useful info about them.

Can someone provide a dos and don'ts (in other words, gift ettiquette) of the ATOT Secret Santa. Some questions I have:

Should the gift always be something new (for instance, someone states their likes/wants is a dvd burner and I have a very good used one lying around. Would sending it as the gift be considered rude?)?

Should you include the receipt with the gift (in case there's a problem with the gift)?

Is there anything off limits?

It doesn't have to be new (but make sure its fully functioning, relatively new looking and not a POS) Im gonna put my foot down and say used underwear is unacceptable though.

You can include a gift receipt or if you dont mind your SS knowing how much you spent, an actual receipt with the gift. I recommend just getting a gift receipt if you purchase something from a store.

Things that are off limits:
Dead bodies
Gifts under $20
Live bodies

Other than that, use your discretion. When you get matched with someone take time to look through their posts.

i sent Nik a lump of coal and a blow up sheep doll 2 or so years ago :p

I remember hearing about that and seeing pics, hilarious

Note: I remember last year someone asked to include T-Shirt sizes. Just in case everyone else forgets to:D

The OP is a bit unclear:

"We request that the gifts should be at least in the $20 amount. There?s no rule stating you can?t spend more however if you wish to. "

That makes no sense. Are the gifts supposed to be over or under $20?

It makes perfect sense. There is no rule as to the maximum that you can spend, but the minimum you should spend is $20.

its worded a bit awkward perhaps, but "at least" usually implies a minimum. The SS gift should be $20 or more.

Spend around $20 but take into consideration how much shipping is going to cost. There is nothing concrete but we don't want you sending a $3 bag of candy and thinking you are good.

does this count as heatware feedback? 'cuz this might make up for the feedback I never got from the traders that never left me anything, but was too lazy myself to even remind them.

hm....i'll consider it. but shipping to me would be kinda expensive for anyone sending to me so its kinda 50/50 in the wind right now. i wouldnt mind sending to anyone else since anything i send would be kinda expensive anyway.
