I don't understand that argument against increasing carry weight. I'm sure you were exaggerating, but I think you went a bit far with the god mode comparison.
In the end the only real determining factor in how much gold you amass in this game is how much time you are willing to dedicate to running around to vendors selling shit. A single dungeon visit can sometimes load you up with enough loot that you can't even sell it all in a single city because you will run out of vendor gold. Personally I got tired of screwing around with swapping stuff between my inventory, my companions inventory, and my house. I boosted my weight limit up to 100,000. I'm still much poorer than most of the people posting here, my max gold ever is somewhere between 15-20k because I just don't bother to go sell all my crap (hell I don't even pick up most things any more), and I'm level 44. I'm currently running around with about 11k weight, though most of it is probably ore and ingots that I will never use (those Dwemer ruins really load you up with Dwarven ingots). The only difference between me and someone who didn't boost their weight limit is I've probably spent 8 less hours of game time fucking around with inventory and transporting shit between my house and vendors. If you have unlimited storage in your companion and your house, whats the difference?
If the roleplay factor improves your gameplay experience, then by all means go for it. But lets not pretend that unlimited inventory is anything more than a convenience factor.
