Or did Jim leave NY thinking Karen had the job? He did come back alone.Originally posted by: GagHalfrunt
ROFL. What a weird twist. Anyone with half a brain knew that both Jim and Michael would wind up back in Scranton. But now what are they going to do with Karen? I assumed she would get the NY job to clear the way for Jim and Pam to be together.

Also... Ryan may have been dreaming about getting the job.
Yep. I love how they refer back to past episodes. I think the Office Olympics was like the 2nd or 3rd episode of season 2.Originally posted by: bGIveNs33
that was the gold medal from the office olympics right?

Nah, Karen didn't get the job. Her going to NY would have been just made it too easy for Pam and Jim to get together. Ryan being Michael's boss is going to be funny though, Ryan's a smart guy but Michael is going to keep bringing up that he's never made a sale and almost burned down the whole office. Plus the Ryan and Kelly breakup is going to be great. This was a great ending to Season 3, I'm really looking forward to the next one, so many good story lines!
Pam/Jim/Karen - Although did Jim ever really have feelings for Karen? That's really what makes this less believable. Plus, Karen never gets any funny bits, she's always too serious or just trying to get Jim's attention away from Pam.
Ryan/Michael - From temp to boss, lots of potential for this.
Michael/Jan - I wonder how much Jan is going to be part of Season 4, I could see them writing her out.
Ryan/Kelly - Probably some minor stuff, although since both Ryan and Kelly are involved with writing the show, this might get fleshed out more.

Pam's note f*&ked Jim up so bad that he thought he had no chance at the job. That coupled with the flashbacks to the beach had him thinking about his true feeling for Pam. He probably just assumed that Karen would get the job then.

The Ryan thing was totally unexpected, but I had wondered why they had Karen say that Pam was a b**** in that one scene. It seemed kind of out of place.
Michael:I'm up here all the time and I know everybody here.
Jim: Ok, who's that?
Michael: That... is... Beardy.
Jim: Beardy? I'm going to go introduce myself.
Michael: No, no no. That's not his real name. That's just what I call him.
