I liked the episode, too bad the day ended so quickly for Michael.

Gonna miss him, the show has been hit or miss for me in seasons 5 and 6, but I loved every episode in season 7. You could tell the actors really were crying in the scenes.

Gonna be quirky to not have him there, but the show must go on!

What did you guys think of the episode?

Nice sent off for Michael/Steve. I like the last part with
him and Pam at the airport with no audio of their conversation

I've never liked Steve Carell, so I've never watched more than a couple of minutes of "The Office," thus, his leaving doesn't bother me in the slightest...I also have a strong dislike for Will Farrell, so I won't be watching him as the new boss either. (nor do I care for Raine Wilson...he's just not funny)

Will Ferrell only has maybe one or two episodes left. They originally said he signed on for 4 episodes, but he's been in 3 now and there are still 3 left, but he's definitely not coming back after this season.

I thought it was very fitting. Brought a tear to my eye.

The show pretty much came full circle....

Good....he is nothing short of a disaster.

I agree, it did seem like the actors were actually crying. I got a little lump in my throat when Dwight read the recommendation letter from Michael and FINALLY he gave Dwight credit. As Dwight started reading it he was getting all defensive at first because he figured Michael would once again shoot him down, but then the letter turned genuine and full of compliments... like all along Michael did appreciate and care about him.
That was a great last Michael episode moment.

Then when he kept asking about Pam getting back, and they almost made it seem like they weren't going to get to say goodbye, but she made it to the airport to see him. Notice he had his microphone off so we don't know what they said to each other. Nice touch there.

I wasn't disappointed in the last Michael episode, but sorta know it's the last of an era. The show won't be as good as it was without him.

Didn't you find it awkward that Pam got through security?
she had her shoes off.... so she went through security. we just didn't see it, I guess.

i don't know protocol, would security let you through to say good bye to someone like that? (after going through a proper screening first).

Since 9-11, security will not allow you past the security checkpoint without a ticket of your own. No more gate-side good-byes.

It was a very well done goodbye. Every part of it. Funny. Fitting. Sincere.

Creed with the mug? Brilliant.

I too noticed the security "mistake". Hell even Michael getting through with the microphone was the 1st thing I thought was odd. Minor blip though. It was well worth it for the Pam/Michael hug.

I think a lot of the emotions were honest too during it. The teary eyes etc.

For those that don't like Deangelo Williams? You're nuts.

I'll keep watching it to see how the new boss turns out. The way the show is designed it could go on for a while. It's just like a typical workplace with just a ton more quirks and awkward moments.

I thought it was pretty obvious that they were going to have a cliche airport scene the entire episode.

Agreed. I really like Ferrell's character on the show. It's quite obvious that he's just an idiot and will be fired shortly, especially after his outburst during the sales call. I'm assuming that all the guest stars they'll have on in the next 3 weeks will be interviews to be his replacement. I'm really looking forward to Will Arnett and Jim Carrey.

I really hope that the British dude is only on there for no longer than 10 seconds. I couldn't understand anything he said during is cameo earlier this season.

I really didn't know... it's not like every thing was peachy and all worked out before he left. He and Jim didn't even say goodbye. They couldn't do it so played that game that they'd see each other for lunch tomorrow.

I'm thinking he'll have to leave to go back to fat camp. :sneaky:

Yep sorry to see him go, but it was a fitting end. I doubt I will watch the show any further than this, the show just won't be any good without him. And I just find Will Ferrel's character annoying. Michael's character was awesome because, despite all the stupid things he did and said he was still a believable human being. Ferrel's character is just stupid, and obnoxious beyond believability.
