The Odd Annoying Pop-Up...

Are others getting the odd annoying pop-up?

I thought pop-ups were an Anandtech no-no!

no pop-ups for me... you sure some program isnt running in the background? (try running ad-aware - kazaa also causes popups when its running)

I'm at work when it happens...nothing in the background running....only happens around 1AM and they seem to be Amazon.com related. This is also the only IE that I am browsing in ATM.

The only thing that could be more annoying is the 'Hit the target and win a free prize' ad of late. That thing's almost as bad as the seizure-inducing ad of a couple weeks ago.

As for the pop-up ad, I haven't experienced it myself.

Scan your system with ad-aware.

Last night with no windows open but one on the subscriber server, I did experience a popup window. I did notice that someone had placed a Java mouseover that created the popup in a thread I was reading. No clicking was necessary.. it just popped open in a new window as the mouse crossed over it.

Ya, I found yesterday out that java is enabled (or not diabled) here in the forums
